We want to find an innovative, adaptable, and results-oriented Platform Owner VDI Director for our Digital Workplace Services business unit . This position can be located in Waltham, MA, Brooklyn, NY, Hicksville, NY, or Syracuse, NY (candidates may also reside in either Connecticut, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Maine). What you'll do

As a Platform Director, you'll lead the development and implementation of Digital Workplace Services (DWS) VDI technology strategies and architectures to enable the organization to achieve its goals. By setting policies and guidelines related to the platform strategy, managing relationships with stakeholders, and driving innovation capabilities, you'll contribute to our vision of being a leader in our industry by leveraging emerging technologies to drive growth and success. Key responsibilities include the following:

  • Lead and manage a team to ensure the successful delivery of VDI infrastructure platform products and services.

  • Own the strategic planning and roadmap for the platform service/product.

  • Set direction for design & development of the VDI service, aligned to various worker types (personas) and their specific needs.

  • Coordinate with Platform Lead, Technical Lead, Product Owners, other Platform Owners in the DWS platform portfolio, and Platform Success managers to prioritize initiatives to work on involving their service.

  • Manage performance of architect and engineering team members in their team.

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the platform to meet the company's objectives and goals.

  • Collaborate with other engineering teams and stakeholders to determine needs and requirements.

  • Ensure the platform is scalable, cost and performance efficient, and secure by implementing best practices and industry standards by working with Chapter Leaders and Operations Leads to ensure alignment on best practices and standards and coordinating with Platform Technical Lead

  • Research and evaluate new infrastructure technologies and solutions to improve the platform's performance and functionality.

  • Responsible for creating and delivering traceable and auditable customer success metrics for the platform.

  • Monitor and analyze platform performance metrics and report on the platform's overall health to senior leadership.

  • Manage the infrastructure platform within budget guardrails to ensure alignment with company priorities and goals.

  • Align NFRs (Non Functional Requirements) jointly with the Transversal Teams ensuring prioritization jointly with teams

  • Participation in Community of Practice (CoP) to share best practices and standards.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure the platform's success.

About you

  • 10 or more years experience in virtualization technologies including VMWare and Microsoft; Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows as a Service, cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google; device and desktop management best practices.

  • Infrastructure scripting and management tools such as ControlUp, InTune, Active Directory, application packaging/virtualization/streaming, PowerShell.

  • Infrastructure automation mindset with the ability to lead teams coding engineering and operations solutions at scale for cost and performance efficiency.

  • Master's Degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Or a BS/BA degree or higher in a technical discipline

  • 10 or more years of relevant experience.

  • 5 or more years of people management experience with relevant industry and professional certifications.

  • Experience in strategic technology leadership, IT infrastructure, business case development, data analytics, and outsourcing management.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, including articulating complex ideas and influencing in a matrix environment.

  • Strong ability to guide IT financials and lead a diverse team with inclusive culture across geographical boundaries.

  • Develop trusted relationships with key stakeholders to deliver desired business outcomes.

Salary

Dowstate NY $192,000 - $226,000 a year

Massachusetts $179,000 - $211,000 a year

Upstate NY $160,000 - $188,000 a year

Salary is commensurate with experience and location

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
