for a $5 billion industry that provides over $400 million to charitable purposes throughout Minnesota. The Gambling Control Board is uniquely positioned to allow you to help ensure the integrity of the popular charitable gambling fundraising that helps our local communities. As a member of our agency, you will contribute to the success of the industry by providing regulatory oversight, allowing this type of fundraising to be successful.

This field agent position located in Hibbing, MN reports directly to the Field Agent Supervisor and performs professional level duties such as: on-site compliance appraisals and evaluations of gambling licensees and their premises; complete detailed reports providing analysis of gaming irregularities; receive, prioritize, and act upon referrals from agency staff and clientele; analyze, interpret and provide written and oral information and technical assistance to clientele regarding lawful gambling statutes, rules and procedures; provide information for effective prosecutions and perform special tasks as assigned to assist in the regulation of lawful gambling.

A hybrid telework arrangement will be subject to change based on the agency's operational needs.

Frequent travel for on-site visits is a large component of this position.

Minimum Qualifications

At least one (1) year of continuous work experience with primary responsibilities in the area of accounting, law enforcement (ie. police officer, FBI agent, DEA agent, U.S. Marshal), public administration, regulatory compliance, financial investigations, or a closely related regulation field requiring problem solving, or an area of accounting and analytics.

  • Ability to prepare clear and concise field audit reports to correct, guide, and provide technical assistance and training.

  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively and timely with minimal supervision.

  • Experience with word processing and spreadsheets, such as Microsoft Word , Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledgeoflawfulgambling rulesandregulationsintheStateofMinnesota.

  • Knowledge of state lawful reporting requirements.

  • Abilitytoapply,interpret andexplainregulations(statutes,rules,policy, andprocedures)tointernal,agencyandnon-regulatory,externalstakeholders.

  • Ability to develop and present training materials and procedures to a variety of in person/classroom groups, up to 1-75+ people.

Physical Requirements

  • This position requires an unrestricted Class DDriver’s license with a clear drivingrecord.
