Job Title: Area Sales Manager

Location: Hertfordshire

Responsible to: Regional/Branch Manager

Working hours: 8:30 – 17:00 Monday- Friday

Main purpose of the role: Lead sales to achieve budgeted levels of sales and profit and excellent customer service.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Principal duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve short, medium and longer term budgeted sales and margin.

  • Manage and develop Equipment and Aftermarket sales.

  • Maintain an updated knowledge of competitor activity and plans, taking action and making recommendations as necessary.

  • Manage the commercial position of the Company in its market, taking a balanced view of market share growth and margin improvement.

  • Manage pricing and negotiate prices for new business within set parameters to achieve budgets and Company plans.

  • Take responsibility for promotion of company including organisation and attendance at trade shows.

  • Manage costs to achieve budgeted levels.

  • Represent the company with customers and elsewhere as needed, making visits as necessary.

  • Be proactive in anticipating and identifying potential issues affecting the business and take required corrective action/ make recommendations as necessary.

  • Assist in the development of the annual sales target

  • Take a lead position in all areas of business to resolve problems of supply, quality, liability, debt collection, etc. ensuring a satisfactory outcome and looking for a win-win position where possible.

  • Assist the company in driving product development

  • Responsible for administration activities such as quotation logs and crm system

  • Report on activities as necessary
