The Hershey Company Assistant Controller in Hershey, Pennsylvania
Position based in Hershey, PA or remote east coast, quarterly travel to Hershey.
The Assistant Corporate Controller will have responsibility for the global financial closing and consolidations process. This role will provide direction and oversight of The Hershey Company’s accounting policies, GAAP and Non-GAAP reporting, as well as legal entity reporting. This role will interact closely with other members of the controllership, financial data systems (FDS), global business services (GBS), tax, FP&A, internal and external auditor teams.
The Assistant Corporate Controller will help evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the accounting processes, internal controls and financial reporting.
/ Major Duties/Responsibilities/
Oversees the execution of the financial reporting close and consolidation process. Including, but not limited to preparing cash flow statements, business unit reviews and relevant internal controls.
Provide financial expertise and oversight to the international business unit controllers, ensuring statutory and US GAAP compliance is met.
Responsible for the financial reporting governance over the core financial statements; management reporting; Non-GAAP financial results, and legal entity reporting.
Continuous improvement of accounting processes, reduction of manual journal entries, simplification and quality enhancement of account reconciliations.
Responsible for updating, monitoring and enforcing global accounting policies, including governance over the chart of accounts.
Ad hoc, project work as needed.

⦁ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
⦁ HFM/BPC/Consolidation tool experience preferred
⦁ Exposure to SAP and Blackline financial tools preferred
⦁ CPA preferred
⦁ 10+ years of progressive experience
⦁ Prior experience in global public company, with foreign currency exposure
⦁ Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP
⦁ Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience, including meeting facilitation and presentations
⦁ Strong project management and organizational skills with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
⦁ Demonstrates professional judgment and high standards for quality and attention to detail
⦁ Strong proficiency with Excel, Outlook, Teams and Word
⦁ Aspiration to grow within the company
