Position Title: Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering School/Division: School of Engineering Full Time/Part Time: Full-Time Description: The Fred DeMatteis School of Engineering and Applied Science is pleased to invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant/associate professor level in Mechanical Engineering in the Department of Engineering at Hofstra University. The Department of Engineering has an opening in its mechanical engineering program for a faculty member with expertise in at least one of the following: engineering mechanics, modeling of dynamic systems, solid mechanics, mechanical vibrations and/or similar fields. The engineering programs at Hofstra are experiencing rapid growth, and the successful applicant will contribute to the department's ability to offer a top-tier undergraduate educational experience to our students. Hence, candidates must be effective communicators with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, be able to initiate sustained research – especially of a type that can involve advanced undergraduates – and show initiative in seeking external funding for research.
