Position Title: Electronics Laboratory Technologist (Part-Time) School/Division: School of Engineering Full Time/Part Time: Part-Time Description: Reporting to the Chairperson of the Engineering Department, the Electronics Laboratory Technologist supports the multiple electrical and electronics-based laboratories in the Engineering Department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manages the functioning and utilization of electrical laboratory equipment including digital voltmeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, function generators and electrical component measuring systems. Performs circuit prototyping, soldering, and mechanical tasks. Maintenance of security for all laboratory equipment, including electrical equipment on loan from departmental labs to students and faculty, and forecasting demand of equipment and supplies. Sources all electrical components required by the various teaching laboratories. Manages standard laboratory safety and security standards with dealing with electronic and electrical equipment/circuits. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; technology specialization preferred. At least 5 years of related work experience or equivalent training and experience with electronic instrumentation and basic electronic circuits. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with both analog and digital circuits of the type utilized in undergraduate laboratories and classes preferred.
