Position Title: Associate Director of Technical Systems School/Division: Public Safety Office: Public Safety, Campus Access and Security Systems Full Time/Part Time: Full-Time Description: Reporting to the Director of Campus Access and Security Systems, the Associate Director of Technical Systems is responsible for the management of Hofstra's Campus Access System. Responsibilities for this position also support office programs and initiatives, supervision of student employees, as well as assisting in and providing expertise in the maintenance and repair of all equipment and software. The Associate Director of Technical Systems should be an independent worker and a self-starter. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manages academic and residential access levels, groups, rules, and related processes for the University. Provides technical expertise and support in managing and maintaining the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance programs of Hofstra University's Lenel access control system. Co-manages and administers a departmental work order system, managing departmental inventory records, support databases, and excel documents that contain valuable Hofstra Card Services and University records and documents. Works closely with Public Safety on access control. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field required. Valid New York State Driver's License. 3-5 years' experience with low voltage/access control. 2-3 years' experience with Lenel OnGuard, certification preferred. 2-3 years' experience working with access control ID Card Production Systems. 2-3 years' experience working with administering a Work Order System/Inventory Management. Familiarity with standard office software, photo editing software, and office equipment pertaining to the production of ID cards. Good oral and written communications skills. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Must be collaborative, organized, and detail oriented. Ability to participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation. Must be able to lift equipment weighing up to 40 lbs. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with Atrium is a plus.
