Position Title: Associate Dean, Undergraduate Admission School/Division: Enrollment Management Full Time/Part Time: Full-Time Description: Reporting to the Director of Undergraduate Admission, the Associate Dean is responsible for all aspects of admissions and recruiting of a local territory to include delivering on-campus and off-campus admissions programs, reviewing freshman applications for undergraduate admission and networking and building relationship between high school counselors, prospective students, and parents. Candidates must be willing and able to organize and handle all aspects of administration and adhere to the rules and regulations of Hofstra University, the Colonial Athletic Conference, and the NCAA . Additional hours required on evenings and weekends in support of special projects, travel, and events. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Works closely with senior staff in the admission office to supervise and mentor junior staff. Maintains communication with prospective students via email, phone and text message through all stages of the recruitment and admission process. Speaks to groups and individual students and meets with school officials to develop partnerships between the University and high schools throughout an assigned geographic region. Represents the University Admission Office at evening college fairs, college nights, and admissions panels. Serves as the primary contact and reader of applications for admission for designated applications. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. Valid driver's license required for travel to off campus events. Minimum of three years prior admissions experience. Strong interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with computerized admissions and financial aid system such as Ellucian Banner and Slate preferred. Working Knowledge of PC-based word processing and spreadsheet programs.
