Position Title: Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing School/Division: School of Nursing Full Time/Part Time: Full-Time Description: The Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies requests applications from qualified individuals for a tenure-track, full time associate or assistant professor position. The Doctor of Nursing Practice and Master of Science programs with a major in nursing have three tracks: Family Nurse Practitioner ( FNP ), Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner ( AGACNP ), and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner ( PMHNP ). The Bachelor of Science program with a major in nursing began in fall 2021. The School also offers a Master of Science in Cardiovascular Sciences and Perfusion Medicine Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide instruction to Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Doctor of Nursing Practice students in Nursing and Cardiovascular Sciences and Perfusion Medicine Demonstrate competence in teaching Create innovative curricula utilizing experiential pedagogies and adult learning theory Engage in community service above and beyond faculty requirements Engage in lifelong learning as evidenced by participation in professional and faculty development Evidence of progressive participation and leadership of national/international professional organizations Maintain clinical/professional experience in the field of accreditation of undergraduate and graduate-level programs, namely Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education ( CCNE ) and Accreditation Committee-Perfusion Education (AC-PE) Qualifications: Candidates must have a doctoral degree in nursing or a related field Minimum of 5 years of experience in teaching at the collegiate level required Minimum of 7 years of clinical experience required Experience with Simulation Experience teaching Undergraduate fundamentals and med-surg Excellent communication, organizational, teaching, leadership, and time management skills Outstanding computer skills are a must and include proficiency in Blackboard, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Successful candidates will have demonstrated a commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in an educational environment Preferred Qualifications: Peer reviewed national/international presentations; publications preferred EEO Statement: Hofstra University is an equal opportunity employer, committed to fostering diversity in its faculty, administrative staff and student body, and encourages applications from the entire spectrum of a diverse community.
