Position Title: Assistant/Associate Professor of Audiology School/Division: School of Health Sciences Full Time/Part Time: Full-Time Description: Hofstra University's Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences seeks to fill an opening for a full-time, tenure track, faculty position in Audiology. This position is anticipated to begin in the Fall of 2025. Hofstra University, in cooperation with Adelphi and St. John's Universities, offers a professional doctorate in audiology (AuD) through the Long Island Doctor of Audiology Consortium program. The Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences at Hofstra University is housed within the School of Health Sciences, which includes the Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic, located in the Joan and Arnold Saltzman Community Services Center. The Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic offers diagnostic and treatment services to children and adults for a variety of communication disorders, including audiological evaluations and screenings, hearing aid evaluations, hearing aid fitting and dispensing, central auditory processing evaluations, and aural rehabilitation services. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses. The course load consists of nine semester hours (3 courses) of teaching per semester. Publishing research in candidate's area of interest, including grant writing. Advising and mentoring students. Serving on Department, School, and University committees. Qualifications: Earned research doctorate (PhD) in audiology, hearing science, or related discipline. ABD candidates will be considered. Preferred Qualifications: ASHA certified or eligible for certification.
