Reporting to the Dean of the School of Health Professions & Human Services (HPHS), the Assistant Dean will be responsible for fostering strong partnerships/relationships with department chairs, faculty, employers, alumni, administrators, and the broader community in support of the mission and goals of the School. The successful candidate will be an innovative professional, who stays current and provides statistical and evaluative reporting of trends in health care that support our students (job outlook), faculty (research), and in the development of new programs (e.g. certificates, badges, global initiatives). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: â-¢Coordinates and implements initiatives that improve communication and collaboration among the Schoolâ-™s external and internal stakeholders. â-¢Fosters engagement between alumni, professionals in the health care field, employers, faculty, and students. â-¢Routinely represents HPHS at on-campus and off-campus special events and actively promotes program activities across campus among various constituencies. â-¢Assists the Dean in developing a base of support for the School with business, industry, government, and educational partners. â-¢Contributes to the network of supporters of HPHS, and makes appropriate introductions to the dean, faculty, and other representatives of the University. â-¢Identifies opportunities to advance the Schoolâ-™s image and brand by developing ongoing communication plans, marketing initiatives, and a strong social media presence. â-¢Serves as liaison to the Career Center, shares strategic guidance on trends and opportunities in employment, and integrates career networking between students and alumni. â-¢Works with Alumni Relations to develop and maintain a list of HPHS alumni for efficient communication regarding employment, events, and fundraising. â-¢Assists the Dean in engaging and recruiting for, members of the HPHS Deanâ-™s Advisory Board. This includes regular board meetings, one-on-one meetings with individual members, and coordinating any special projects with organizations represented by a member(s) of the Deanâ-™s Advisory Board. â-¢Plans, coordinates, and oversees the Marques Colston Fellowship in Health. This undergraduate fellowship opportunity is for rising upper-class students within HPHS. The fellowship helps students develop professional skills in communications, community service, leadership, and personal branding. â-¢Plays a lead role in the logistical aspects of events such as National Public Health Week, speaker series, conferences, research showcases, and other special projects. â-¢Serves as the Schoolâ-™s liaison with Hon. Kemp Hannon, Hofstra Health Policy Fellow, and former New York State Senator, on the continual development of events for the HPHS signature event series: The State of H.O.P.E. (Healthcare Opportunities and Policy Exchange). â-¢Serves as the liaison for the Office of Undergraduate Admission and coordinates HPHS representation at undergraduate open houses, informational sessions, and special tours. â-¢Oversees the use of HPHSâ-™ digital anatomy and physiology lab suite by scheduling faculty use of space. â-¢Serves as the liaison to Anatomage Inc. for equipment maintenance of the lab space. â-¢Promotes and markets school programs and events, as well as student, faculty, and alumni research, accomplishments, and expertise. â-¢Participates in an ongoing planning process to implement the annual School wide goals and strategic plan of the School. â-¢Supports the development of Grant applications, Data collection, accreditation, and student retention. â-¢Performs other related duties as assigned. This position includes working evenings, weekends, and traveling as required.
