Position Title: Assistant Athletic Trainer School/Division: Training Room (division) Full Time/Part Time: Full-Time Description: Hofstra University, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Colonial Athletic Association/Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association, is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer. Reporting to the Associate Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine, the Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for assisting with the prevention, recognition, evaluation, rehabilitation and recovery from injuries and illnesses to student-athletes. Hofstra University sponsors 21 competitive sports and approximately 350 student-athletes. Candidates must be willing and able to organize and handle all aspects of administration and adhere to the rules and regulations of Hofstra University, the Colonial Athletic Association, and the NCAA . Responsible for knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. If found responsible for a violation of NCAA regulations, will be subject to disciplinary or corrective action, including termination if appropriate. Also, may be responsible for any act or omission that may give rise to a finding that the University has violated an NCAA regulation. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Helps student-athletes prevent, recognize, evaluate, rehabilitate and recover from injuries and illnesses. Maintains illness and treatment records, insurance correspondence, and communication with team physicians and the University Wellness Center. Supervises athletic training students enrolled in the accredited athletic training education curriculum. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. NATABOC Certification, New York State License or eligible, CPR and AED Certification. Minimum 1 to 3 years of related work experience. Valid driver's license. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Athletic Training preferred.
