BCAA Senior Full Stack Developer in *Head Office, Canada

We are currently hiring a Senior Full Stack Developer based in our Head Office (Hybrid) in Burnaby.

Are you passionate about the future of mobility and micro-mobility, and eager to work with innovative technologies that will transform transportation in the Lower Mainland? We're seeking a dynamic Senior Full Stack Developer (SFSD) with an architecture mindset to join our Mobility Technology team.

In this role, you’ll work on next-generation mobility vehicles and software systems, bringing groundbreaking alternate transportation options to life. You’ll collaborate with business areas, vendor partners, and your team to develop and deliver BCAA’s mobility and micro-mobility solutions, including enhancements, proofs of concept, and designs.

As an SFSD, you'll lead by example, design, implement, test, and debug software programs, and work closely with solution and data architects to troubleshoot and resolve issues. What you’ll do:

  • Innovate and optimize technical solutions by challenging existing methods and collaborating with UI/UX and CX/Design Thinking teams to develop web and mobile solutions.

  • Introduce advanced design and architecture practices to improve technology, quality, and team workflows.

  • Design, develop, and document enhancements for platforms and applications to build solutions for customer problems, adhering to coding standards and influencing technical direction.

  • Innovate and explore new technologies, architect data flows and user interfaces, and integrate with external software or SaaS applications to address customer needs.

  • Conduct implementation, unit, and integration testing to ensure solutions are maintainable, scalable, performant, and secure, while collaborating with stakeholders and team members.

  • Troubleshoot production issues, maintain platforms, provide off-hours release support as needed, and relentlessly seek opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance front end and backend changes independently and or in collaboration with team members.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in code integration within application development and Full-Stack development.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with the following technologies:

  • Front end: React/Redux, HTLM5, CSS3, SASS

  • Middle Tier: Amazon Web Services (authentication, gateway API, Lambda, RDS), Javascript (NodeJS, ReactJS), Python, RESTful web services (web application architecture), 3rd party SaaS integration

  • Database: PostgreSQL

  • Architecture: Microservices pattern

  • Familiar and comfortable with working in an Agile/DevOps development environment.

  • Experience working with Jira Cloud, Jira Server and Confluence is an asset.

  • Knowledge of SDLC and all stages if STLC.

The salary range for this position is $103,506.96 to $129,383.64 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 9%, with the opportunity to earn up to 15%.
