Position Summary

CVS Health is seeking an experienced, initiative-taking and highly motivated professional to join our team as Senior Manager, Systems Engineering of Technical Operations Project Manager, part of the Infrastructure Operations & Service Delivery organization. You will play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining project management standards, processes, and best practices, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently. You will be aligned to a specific business unit within CVS Health and will gain an understanding of the business unit’s requirements from IT infrastructure and operations. You will also lead and spearhead internal IT for IT programs such as technology modernization, cloud, vulnerability management and other programs. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities and Skills:

Project Management:

  • Create management, communication plans and processes.

  • Analyze and develop procedures for management and technical duties.

  • Define project responsibilities with stakeholders.

  • Participate in how budget and staff are allocated for the project.

  • Maintain project time frames, budget estimates and status reports.

  • Drive projects from inception to delivery managing budget, timelines, and quality goals. Identify, analyze, mitigate, and proactively respond to project, financial and operational risks.

  • Execute delivery process so that the distributed resources can work as an effective, objective driven and collaborative team.

  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills; ability to forge consensus among competing constituents on critical and time sensitive issues.

Process Improvements:

  • Putting in place a continuous improvement program with focus on identifying and implementing best practices and developing improvements.

  • Leverage the existing tools or put in place new ones to ensure effective execution of projects.

  • Versed in any agile and waterfall project methodologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, streamline and execute the service delivery processes.

  • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills; able to multitask and prioritize effectively.

Communications:

  • Conduct collaborative discussions with stakeholders to gain consensus on project charter, timelines, and risks.

  • Provide leadership with clear and concise reporting that articulates the progress to date, plan to completion and risks/issues.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years as a Technical Project Manager, specifically in IT infrastructure and cloud related projects.

  • 3+ years of Agile and Waterfall based Project Management experience.

  • 7+ year of experience in IT infrastructure components, including servers, storage, network devices, cloud services (Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud), and security concepts (including security standards, related controls, and vulnerability remediation).

Preferred Skills

  • Well versed in application technology stacks to have informed discussions with application teams and application owners.

  • Working knowledge of modern technologies such as DevOps, Microservices.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Project management certifications (e.g., PMP) are a plus.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$67,900.00 - $149,328.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
