CVS Health Senior Software Development Engineer - Java/Cloud in Hartford, Connecticut

Position Summary

This role is positioned on the CVS Health Enterprise Identity Services team. The team owns and manages a big data data platform which serves to identify our customers regardless of which channel they engage. The identity demographic information is used to power programs and services that help drive customer safety and access to services. The goal is to provide a trusted and definitive identity data asset that can be consumed across all lines of business. Our customers are our most important asset and identity information is a strategic enabler for CVS Health.

This role will join a software engineering team responsible for implementing connections between systems to enable upstream providers to connect to downstream consumers of the data services. Candidates must be familiar and comfortable working in a highly complex environment within a DevOps model. The platform is an on-premise multi-layer IBM stack through which we process data from source connections and build integrations to make it consumable by the enterprise through API access. This role will evolve into a clud engineering role as we migrate to the Google Cloud Platform. Come on the journey with us!

This is a hands-on role that requires specific coding skills. After the candidate develops the expertise and collaborates with our software engineering team on the existing tech stack, they will manage our migration of those activities to a cloud environment. This includes;

  • Designing and putting into practice cloud native solutions to serve enterprise use cases.

  • Establishing clear and specific criteria with key stakeholders

  • Overseeing the implementation of solutions with the specific goal of maintaining high availability of real-time data use cases.

  • Prioritizing activities in accordance with business needs.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ Years of hands-on development experience in an information systems environment

  • 3+ Years of experience in Java/J2EE development including J2EE containers like WebSphere App Server, Web Logic etc.

  • 3+ Years of experience in Relational Databases like DB2/Oracle

  • 2+ Years of experience in Linux/AIX systems

  • 2+ Years of API development experience

  • 2+ years of experience working in an Agile-based development environment and using DevOps practices such as Continuous Integration (CI/CD)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience & certification on GCP.

  • Experience working with MDM technology and concepts.

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information systems or similar

  • 1 year of experience required for every year of college degree not obtained in addition to required years of experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$101,970.00 - $203,940.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
