CVS Health Senior Financial Consultant in Hartford, Connecticut

Job Description

Transformative role for technology-forward experienced accounting/finance professionals looking for continued growth and progression opportunities in a large public Company, as part of a new team of individuals responsible for centralizing and automating the preparation and filing of Aetna’s statutory financial statements. This role provides exposure to a vast spectrum of accounting areas, including financial reporting and financial statement preparation and review, technical accounting, transformation and financial analytics. This role provides extensive opportunity to partner with Aetna’s various business units, transform its statutory financial reporting process, work with its state regulators and examiners, and liaise with its audit partners. Job responsibilities are focused around centralizing and automating two key areas of the statutory reporting process. The first area involves the “inputs” to the broader statutory process, including pulling data from disparate sources and statutory-specific journal entries to finalize the trial balance. The second area involves the “outputs” of numerous (and various) types of reporting – both external and management-reporting. Both areas are mostly decentralized and manual. The candidate will have the opportunity to centralize these deliverables into one team and then design, build, and implement solutions to transform the way the entire statutory reporting team works.

Required Qualifications

4+ years of accounting, auditing, or financial reporting experience 1+ years of advanced Excel skills (using vlookup, hlookup, index, match)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Insurance industry experience- Knowledge of VBA, PowerQuery, SQL - Track record of implementing process change, with a focus on experience in automating manual tasks.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance required/Accounting preferred
