CVS Health Senior Data Scientist - Work from Home Flexible in Hartford, Connecticut
This role directly supports Internal Audit’s goal of increasing the use of data analytics across the department. This role will be responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of the Internal Audit Data Analytics Program as well as other Internal Audit technology related process improvements.• Under limited supervision, conducts analyses or produces reports of varied healthcare data to assess health and economic outcomes of Aetna products and programs. • This position will be responsible to analyze and document business data and processes, recommend technical solutions and create reports or other solutions as needed to support business needs. • Daily activities will include collaborating with business / other auditor team members to understand their processing control and business risk, structure data analysis, driving analytical insights, and analytical solutions. • Understands and recommends analytical techniques to auditors. Solves problems and takes a new perspective on existing solutions. • Development of solutions with high complexity and risk. Presents recommendations to senior staff and Business owners. • Perform complex data analysis in support of ad-hoc and standing management or customer requests. • Developed programs and files for analyzing and presenting data. • Designing and developing scalable data solutions using Alteryx or other Data Analytics tools for data cleansing, integration, and auditing to identify audit exceptions. • Structure data analysis, driving analytics insights, and analytical solutions to help auditors determine the best analytical solution. • Develops Alteryx workflows and Alteryx Applications for complex projects.Focus of the Role:• Perform big data analytics (Alteryx, Python, R, SQL, Database Systems, etc.) on vast healthcare data sets.• Utilize advanced analytics, data science (predictive modeling, deep learning, Natural Language Processing etc.) and data mining to mitigate business risk and identify internal risk factors throughout the enterprise.• Leverage and identify cutting-edge IT applications (RPA, AI tools, etc.) to achieve operational excellence.• Utilizing business intelligence methods, analyze and visualize data to perform complex data analysis in support of ad-hoc and standing management or customer request.
• 5 or more years in finance, accounting, economics, audit, statistics, computer science, actuarial science, physics, engineering, mathematics and/or project management experience in a professional and/or academic setting.

• Knowledge and experience with analytic programming tools (SQL, SAS, Alteryx, Python, R, etc.).• Familiarity with Data Science and Statistical Modeling techniques and technologies (i.e. Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, etc.).• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to present information to various audiences.• Strong analytical mindset on organizing, validating, and developing solutions leveraging data and technology.• Strong project planning, organizational and problem-solving skills. • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interact within all levels of the organization.• Strong critical thinking skills.• Knowledge of other reporting platforms such as: Business Objects, Microsoft Access, web development technology, big data analytics, data mining, Visual Basic. Understanding of relational databases, data systems and data warehouses. • Experience in statistical analysis and database management. • Knowledge of analytic programming tools and methods (SAS, Alteryx, Python, R, Automation Anywhere). • Deep knowledge of health care industry, policy, research design, univariate and multivariate statistical analyses, predictive modeling, case-mix and risk adjustment methods and tools. • Experience in working in a data warehouse environment as well as the ability to work with large data sets from multiple data sources. • Strong knowledge of health care claims, products, and systems. • Solid Understanding of complex databases and UNIX or mainframe environments. • Strong SQL and SAS programming skills (e.g., SAS Base, SAS STAT, SAS Macros) Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
Bachelors degree required.
