CVS Health Senior Actuary - GUA Medicare Part D in Hartford, Connecticut

Job Description

This is a remote opportunityJoin a high-performing actuarial team supporting CVS Health and Aetna's exciting and growing Government Services Part D business. The primary focus of this role will be developing and maintaining various technical models and processes in support of Part D business. This role will conduct modeling activities related to technical development & maintenance, pricing, regulatory reform, SAI support, process improvement, automation, documentation and validation.The successful candidate will take full ownership of assigned projects (from initiatives to conclusion), effectively communicate and collaborate across teams, and serve as a subject matter expert while bringing new perspectives on how to most effectively model Part D business. Influence/motivate resources outside of direct control to complete projects. Collaborate with Business, Actuarial, and Underwriting colleagues in support of Part D business. Develop, enhance, and maintain robust Part D models and processes to accurately evaluate impacts of numerous variables and scenarios while efficiently processing large amounts of data for Employer Group Waiver Plans (EGWPs) including fully-insured PDP/MAPD, self-insured PDP, and external client/prospect data. Use strong critical thinking skills to creatively solve complex business problems. Leverage advanced SAS coding, Excel, and other technical options.Documentation of the models to facilitate cross training and alignment of various models. Construct exhibits and narratives that convey observations/recommendations to non-technical audiences. Implement process improvement through automation and process change. Independently review work for accuracy and reasonability. Interpret models results. Respond to internal and external questions on modeling results. Communicate observations and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.Coaches, mentors and provides feedback to less experienced actuarial employees in development of technical skills or specific subject matter.#AetnaActuary

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

Minimum: 75,400

Maximum: 158,300

Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors Degree along with 5+ years relevant experienceStrong Communication Skills RequiredWorking with large and detailed data sets is requiredStrong Technical Skills Required (SAS, SQL, Python a plus)ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuary) or FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuary) preferred

Preferred Qualifications

Actuarial Students, Progress through Actuarial exams, ASAs & FSAs preferred
