CVS Health Advisor, Application Development in Hartford, Connecticut

Job Description

• Works with .Net and .Net core framework and assists in transition• Provides full stack design and development of projects involving application development migrations and additions to existing applications• Designs and develops API/services necessary to affect front end functionality and /or be consumed by other partners• Develops plans and prioritize to address technical debt and other opportunities• Participates in defect root cause analysis and resolution in order to understand and improve quality of delivered products • Prepares detailed technical specifications from which programs will be written. • Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents those programs. Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities. • Reviews application in progress of development to ensure compliance with overall design and workflow• Regularly provides guidance and training to team members involved in projects• Independently designs and/or codes and may lead others in the development of cost-effective application and program solutions• Leads or acts as a technical contributor in the design of new applications or enhancements including integration of purchased solutions• Independently performs and assists other team members in providing ongoing system maintenance, research, problem resolution and on-call support tasks for existing systems• Fully familiar and compliant with the efficient utilization of the prescribed methodologies and ensures compliance for the work of all aligned resources• Oversees or performs unit testing. May perform or assist with integration and system testing, according to detailed test plans to ensure high-quality systems. May assist business partners with User Acceptance Testing• Supports and promotes the reuse of assets across the organization. • May lead or act as a subject matter expert for projects and/or service requests impacting an application or set of applications. • Serves as team leader to direct technical activities, while also providing support for small and large highly complex projects that require increased skill across multiple technical environments and disciplines, that have system wide impact and that integrate across the organization.

Required Qualifications

• Expertise in one or more programming languages, development tools, databases, and the systems development life cycle, applicable to development organization.• Experience with cloud native solutions in Azure• 5+ years of experience in large-scale, highly reliable and active internet facing application using Microsoft Technologies• 2+ years of experience in Full Stack development with technologies such as C#.Net, Razor pages (Blazor a plus), T-SQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Git and DevSecOps• 6+ years of design and development experience in diverse architectures using .Net technologies involving Test-Driven Development (TDD)• Experience with one or more databases like SQL Server, DB2, Netezza and Hadoop • Proven experience developing scalable applications using Microservices and API • Understand the business and functional requirements that apply to the applications supporting a sub-domain or domain as well as their relevant interfaces.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in the Health Insurance industry• Experience in working on secure/compliance-driven applications• Experience with .Net on Azure and GCP would be a plus• Experience working in an Agile framework such as SAFE• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
