What You’ll Be Doing

This role is accountable for providing leadership to the Private Bankers and has an assigned portfolio (up to 20 connections).

As a Market Leader, Private Banking, this position will work with a dynamic team of investment, private banking and trust professionals in CIBC Private Wealth Management to service the needs of CIBC’s High Net Worth clients. Effectively manage and grow a portfolio of cash management, lending and investment products and services increasing overall profit contribution to CIBC Private Wealth Management. Support clients’ overall needs for broader Wealth Advisory services including Investment, Retirement and Estate Planning services.

In addition to his/her regular advisory, sales and client-facing duties, as the Market Leader, the incumbent will also play a local leadership role for employees and act as an ambassador for the Private Wealth Management offer to internal partners and clients. The incumbent will report to the Executive Director and Regional Head, Private Wealth Management and be delegated management and leadership responsibilities for the local Centre.

How you’ll succeed

  • Client Engagement- Review the client’s portfolio and financial needs from a holistic perspective. Identify opportunities to broaden the client’s suite of products and services. Meet regularly with clients to conduct portfolio reviews and introduce new product and service solutions. Understand wealth generation by small to medium business enterprises and the complexity of monetizing their value.

  • Provide Investment Advice- Increase retention and consolidation of CIBC Private Wealth Management clients’ business by knowing the clients and developing strong relationships and action plans to provide appropriate investment, credit, banking solutions and wealth advisory services. Provide consistent service excellence at all client touch points to meet High Net Worth client’s expectations for service delivery and issue resolution.

  • Manage Portfolio Performance- Ensure quality of account portfolio by performing risk assessment and financial analysis on all potential or existing High Net Worth clients on an ongoing basis. Ensure that all recommendations and actions adhere to all Bank risk standards and guidelines.

Who You Are

  • You are an seasoned professional. You have a minimum of 7+ years of demonstrated private banking (private client, private banking, advisory, brokerage, etc.) success in the ability to establish, maintain and grow high net worth portfolios, combined with a generalist knowledge in the following areas: tax, investment management, financial planning, law, trust, credit, commercial banking, international private banking, and 3 years’ financial services experience in building and maintaining relationships with high net worth clients.
