The Role: Systems Engineer

The Team: The OSTTRA Technology team is composed of Capital Markets Technology professionals, who build, support and protect the applications that operate our network. The technology landscape includes high-performance, high-volume applications as well as compute intensive applications, leveraging contemporary microservices, cloud-based architectures

The Impact: Together, we build, support, protect and manage high-performance, resilient platforms that process more than 100 million messages a day. Our services are vital to automated trade processing around the globe, managing peak volumes and working with our customers and regulators to ensure the efficient settlement of trades and effective operation of global capital markets

Responsibilities:

The Systems Engineer will join a global team of highly skilled engineers within the IT End User Computing (internal IT) department within Osttra.

Key role responsibilities consist in owning certain products and solutions within Osttra.

Owning means that you’ll be responsible for ensuring all the aspects of the platform is managed (i.e. patching, licensing, ensure roles and accesses are defined and controlled, security of the platform, keeping track of release notes, roadmaps, ensuring knowledge bases are up to date and usable for the Support Engineers and act as a 3rd line support).

The position is broad, heavily technical and you’ll be involved in the platforms and solutions where your skillset is best used, but primary ownership will be around one of our platforms which could be M365/Entra ID, Google Workspace, Zoom Phone and Contact center

You will also take on the role as technical lead in projects, continuous improvement activities and conduct assessments of different tools.

You will work alongside other platform owners, who have their own key responsibilities but are also technically broad, giving you the chance to collaborate and learn from others with diverse skill sets

What We’re Looking For:

Mandatory:

In depth knowledge and expertise in working with Google Workspace from an engineering perspective.

In depth knowledge and expertise in working with Microsoft 365 and Azure/Entra from an engineering perspective.

Proficient in one or several scripting languages (PowerShell, Perl, Bash), including working with versioning systems.

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Experience with working with an ITIL based ITSM tool is a must and if you’ve worked with Jira Service management, it’s beneficial.

Ability to work from ITSM tools such as Jira Service Management and self-prioritize workstack. Act on initiative with minimal management, and on multiple tasks concurrently

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

In depth knowledge of Windows 10/11

Understanding of mobile devices – iOS and Android and mobile device management (Microsoft Endpoint manager and Google MDM)

Understanding of IT Security, network protocols, firewall and VPN configurations, as well as remote access, content filtering, spam filtering, malware and virus protection

Experience with networking protocols and network services including DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP

Good to have:

In depth knowledge on telephony and video conferencing solutions, particularly within Google and Zoom.

Knowledge of Atlassian Cloud, especially Jira administration and automation is beneficial.

Knowledge of Mac and Ubuntu operating systems are beneficial

Professional qualifications: ITIL v3 Foundation, Service Desk Institute SDA or equivalent ITSM qualification

Special job requirements:
