Customers in over 150 countries look to our expertise in pricing, analytics and news to deliver greater transparency and efficiency to markets. Platts Agriculture & Food pricing is a global team responsible for key pricing benchmarks across the world covering markets such as Grains, Oilseeds, Animal Feed, Proteins, and more.
Responsibilities and Impact:
This is an exciting opportunity to help drive S&P Global Commodity Insights Agriculture & Food price assessments across the APAC region. The Associate Editor (Market Reporter) is expected to:
Assess daily and weekly prices of Agriculture & Food commodities; reporting physical trade activities, including bids, offers and other relevant information on daily and weekly basis.
Write daily and weekly commentaries and assessment rationale explaining the trends driving prices.
Develop and maintain productive relationships with a broad base of key industry sources in APAC Agriculture & Food markets.
Write supply-demand-pricing News Insights, Data and Event Analysis, Blogs, Interviews, Features, Factbox, etc.
Research and interpret market developments and creating multi-media contents.
Collaborate and produce cross-regional and cross-commodity market-moving insightful contents.
Identify opportunities to develop and refine existing price assessment methodology as well as helping launch new price assessments.
Ensure commentary and other contents are accurate and aligned with Platts price assessments.
Represent Platts at national and international industry events with a view to eventually fulfil public speaking/expert panel engagements.
What We’re Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
Degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Agronomics, Sciences, Journalism, or similar.
Strong numeracy skills and the ability to apply basic math functions in Excel.
A solid understanding of Economics and Commodities markets fundamentals.
Fluent in English with excellent English writing skills.
Strong communication skills that demonstrate good listening, clear writing style, and strong verbal skills. The ability to communicate across a wide range of groups and personalities internally and externally.
Entrepreneurial and self-starter mindset with effective problem-solving skills.
An ability to multitask and prioritize under tight deadlines.
Willingness to travel.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in commodity trading and/or price reporting.
Experience in Agriculture & Food sector.
Additional language skills is an advantage.
