The Senior Technical Reporting Analyst will partner with stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop tools and models such as segmentation, dashboards, data visualizations, decision aids and business case analysis to support the organization. The analyst will also serve as a liaison between business users and IT report developers to understand reporting needs, develop requirements, and ensure data architecture is implemented to support alignment with business requirements. The analyst may serve in a project manager capacity for smaller work efforts.

Primary Responsibilities:
Works with internal and external customers to define and document requirements to enrich reporting capabilities
Supports complex projects that require cross functional coordination. Works closely with all customers to accomplish mutual goals and strategies to support company goals
Solves complex problems and develops innovative solutions. Transforms data into meaningful, professional, and easy to understand formats including visualizations for various audiences
Designs, develops, tests, documents, and maintains database queries and reports. Normalizes data as needed, and evaluates downstream business systems, processes, and/or organizational impacts
Develops systematic reporting processes and procedures to ensure timely delivery of daily, weekly, monthly, annual and ad hoc reporting to management
Recommends and implements new or modified reporting methods and procedures to improve report content and completeness of information. Assists in testing new reports and ongoing support of existing solutions, including defect identification and resolution
Advises on the implications of existing systems that can be applied to a reporting problem. Identifies risks and issues, seeks approval on complex matters. Escalates issues to department leadership for support and guidance
Coordinates and collaborates with end users, data warehouse developers, DBA’s, and the change/release manager to ensure total system quality assurance is met at all times
Troubleshoots data integrity issues, analyzes data for completeness to meet business goals and trending
Serves as subject matter expert and provides operational support to internal business partners and external business partners. Provides explanations and information to others on the most complex issues
Serves as a resource to staff, answering questions and assisting with department informatics, reporting and trending, and workflow/operational issues
Checks, instructs, and otherwise functionally directs technical staff to achieve desired end-results on complex problems
Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
5+ years of combined experience with analysis, development and testing related to reporting
5+ years of SQL experience, ability to develop efficient, well-performing queries
5+ years of experience with data visualization tools like Tableau and/or Power BI
Experience with health plan data (claims, quality, and other data)
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word
Knowledge of ETL processes and development
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with other reporting and analytics tools (Business Objects, Cognos, SSRS, etc)
Knowledge of Health Care Industry and/or experience in Medicare Advantage operations
Knowledge of ETL tool like Alteryx
Physical & Mental Requirements:
Ability to push or pull heavy objects using up to __ pounds of force
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to properly drive and operate a company vehicle

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
