THIS IS A 10 MONTH PER YEAR POSITION - SCHEDULE IS BASED ON THE SCHOOL CALENDAR.
The position is open for bid and all qualified job seekers simultaneously. The vacancy will be filled with eligible bidders of this agency who are in the Special Education Program Assistant classification first. Other qualified applicants will be considered after the list of qualified bidders has been exhausted.

Paraprofessional academic classroom support or student management aide support. Develops, continually revises and ensures the implementation of consistent Section 504 procedures. Supports the collection and maintaining of all Section 504 data (504 plans and lists of eligible students) for reference purposes. Provides 504 student accommodation support and instructional reteaching, using a variety of techniques to encourage academic success and appropriate behaviors. Assist in the determination of instructional needs by assisting in evaluating the academic and functional levels of students through appropriate means.
Records and evaluates the effectiveness of classroom instruction to measure student progress and recommends modification of curricula through the use of data collection instruments, daily charting, periodic testing, observation of skills and behaviors, and assisting in the comparison of student progress. Minimum Qualifications
HS Diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of one year of experience performing teaching assistant-related duties.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Knowledge of and experience with the development and implementation of consistent Section 504 procedures.
Ability to read and write English sufficient to understand written policies and procedures and to maintain records and documentation.
Human relations skills sufficient to establish rapport with and provide instruction to students.
Preferred Qualifications
Paraprofessional experience in a school with students from different districts and backgrounds.
CPR certification
Physical Requirements
Occasional lifting may be required.
