Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Management Coordinator within our Mortgage Document Custodian department to join our team. This role is responsible for managing and safeguarding mortgage-related documents, ensuring compliance with investor and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience handling loan documents, strong organizational skills, and a keen eye for accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Receive, review, and validate mortgage loan documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with agency and investor guidelines.
• Maintain and update loan document tracking systems, ensuring proper indexing and organization.
• Manage document storage and retrieval processes, ensuring timely access to loan files as needed.
• Perform quality control checks on mortgage collateral files, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Coordinate with internal departments, lenders, investors, and servicers to facilitate document requests and fulfill audits.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, investor guidelines, and internal policies related to document custody.
• Process document releases and assignments, ensuring proper authorization and recordkeeping.
• Support audits and examinations by providing required documentation and reports.
• Assist in developing and improving document management procedures and workflows.
Qualifications:
• 2+ years of experience in mortgage document custody, loan servicing, or related financial services.
• Knowledge of mortgage documents, including promissory notes, deeds of trust, assignments, and title policies.
• Familiarity with investor guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae) and regulatory requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in document management systems and loan servicing software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with mortgage servicing platforms such as MSP, TabFusionRMS or similar systems.
• Knowledge of SEC regulations related to mortgage-backed securities document custody.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Hours and Work Schedule
Hours: 40
Work Schedule: 8:30am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday
Position is fully onsite in Glen Allen office.
