We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary
There are three positions that will be filled commensurate with the successful candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and education:
Engineer I, Engineer II, Engineer III - OR - Engineering Technical Specialist, I, Engineering Technical Specialist II, or Engineering Technical Specialist III
Level I: This role is the entry or developmental level. Performs routine to moderate work assignments designed to develop professional engineering and engineering technology work knowledge, technical skills and experience within the functional area or specific engineering discipline necessary to progress to the fully functional intermediate level.
Level II: This role is fully competent in all conventional aspects of the subject matter. Distinguished from level I by increased complexity in application of engineering or technical skills required candidates should be able to apply engineering or technical principles to perform and coordinate difficult and complex work activities.
Level III: This is the highest level within this job series, applicants are expected to provide technical expertise and/or team leadership as needed and may serve as a technical expert on engineering / technical related legal and regulatory issues to outside entities.
These roles develop, design, analyze and evaluate transmission facility additions/modifications by applying engineering theories, principles, and practices that contribute to safe, reliable, and cost-effective transmission line designs. These positions will be part of the electric transmission engineering design team. The team's primary responsibility is the design, development, and implementation of high voltage (69kV-500kV) overhead transmission lines throughout the entire DEV footprint. The team’s composition includes entry level to technical experts.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide detail design packages for high voltage transmission line projects. This will include, but not limited to, building new lines, re-building and modifying existing facilities, fiber installations, and customer relocations.
Provide analysis and evaluation of existing and proposed electric transmission line facilities.
Select most cost-effective solution to achieve desired reliability for a given project.
Support projects starting at the detail design phase and through construction to energization.
Interface with other departments or groups such as Project Management, Construction, Supply Chain, Permitting & Route Selection, Real Estate, Right of Way Administration, and Transmission O&M.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
For Both Engineering Technical Specialist series and Engineer series:
Full knowledge of engineering or technical theories, standards and principles
Basic understanding of statics and structural loading
Basic understanding of the principles of electric transmission and/or distribution applications a plus
Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or PLS-CADD is a plus
Solid understanding of overhead line design is highly preferred (Level II & III)
Understanding of deep foundation design (Level II & III)
Understanding of the principles of transmission and/or distribution applications is strongly preferred (Level II & III)
Skilled in use of advanced techniques and modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices of the field and related sciences and disciplines
Strong leadership skills with proven ability to serve as team project lead
Proven decision making skills
Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks
Strong planning, organizational and project management skill
Self-motivator who has the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, but is comfortable independently seeking knowledge and information
Strong time management skills with the ability to independently plan and organize work assignments
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Engineer I: 0-2+ years of engineering experience
Engineer II: 3+ years of relevant engineering experience or demonstrated equivalent.
Engineer III: 5+ years of significant directly related experience
Engineering Technical Specialist I: 0-2 years relevant work experience in a technical role with a preferred Bachelor’s Degree (Or 5 years of relevant work experience in a technical role with an Associate Degree; Or 8 years of relevant work experience in a technical role with a High School degree / equivalent)
Engineering Technical Specialist II: 3 years of relevant work experience in a technical role with a preferred Bachelor’s Degree (Or 5 years of relevant work experience in a technical role with an Associate Degree; Or 8 years of relevant work experience in a technical role with a High School degree / equivalent)
Engineering Technical Specialist III: 5 years of relevant work experience in a technical role with a preferred Bachelor’s Degree (Or 7 years of relevant work experience in a technical role with an Associate Degree; Or 9 years of relevant work experience in a technical role with a High School degree / equivalent)
Education Requirements
*Note: These roles are considering upcoming graduates with a completed and conferred degree no later than August 31st, 2023
Engineering Series Roles:
Required: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (see engineering criteria below)
Preferred: Civil Engineering
REQUIRED ENGINEERING CRITERIA:
Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program based on the year that the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own Engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or
Possess a 4-year degree in Engineering (non-ABET accredited), Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technology and a post-graduate Engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same Engineering discipline is ABET-accredited based on the year the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license.
Engineering Technical Specialist Series
Bachelor's degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education. (See criteria below)
Preferred Discipline(s): Engineering Technology, Physics, Math, Biology, Computer Engineering.
Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.
In order to be a titled Engineering Technical Specialist, you must meet one of the following criteria:
4-year Engineering Technology degree or 4-year degree in Engineering (not ABET-accredited); or
4-year degree in Physics, Math, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Engineering or other technical related discipline; or
4-year non-technical degree and post-graduate degree in Engineering Technology or Engineering (not ABET-accredited); or
Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred degree
Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description
Depending on functional responsibilities and location of position must review ANS 3.1 12/79, ANSI N18.1-1971 or ANSI/ANS 3.1-1993 and DOM-QA-1 as appropriate.
