We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.
Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.
Job Summary
This role a Product Management role in a Digital Solutions organization embedded inside the Electric Transmission business unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing one or more bespoke digital products developed both in-house and by third-parties across its lifecycle. As one of the first roles of its kind in this organization, there will be an opportunity to shape the culture and methodologies of how we do Product Management within this organization subject to alignment with Program and BU level goals and culture.
Responsibilities May Include:
Strategic Product Leadership
Develop and communicate a clear product vision and roadmap for bespoke digital solutions that align with organizational priorities, such as grid management, asset performance, and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with internal business units and stakeholders to identify and prioritize digital product needs, ensuring alignment with Electric Transmission's strategic goals.
Balance long-term product innovation with short-term incremental improvements to deliver business value continuously.
Stakeholder and Vendor Engagement
Act as the key liaison between the utility's internal teams (e.g. engineering, IT, regulatory) and strategic vendor partners to ensure shared understanding and alignment on product goals.
Facilitate regular communication with internal customers and external vendors, ensuring clear requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiations, performance reviews, and ongoing collaboration to ensure high-quality product delivery.
Product Development and Delivery
Own the product lifecycle, from ideation through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
Lead cross-functional teams to deliver digital products that solve complex domain-specific challenges.
Develop and manage product backlogs, ensuring requirements are clearly documented, prioritized, and refined in collaboration with technical teams.
User-Centric Approach
Advocate for end-users by conducting regular user research, gathering feedback, and translating it into actionable product improvements.
Partner with organizational change management teams to ensure smooth adoption of new digital tools and processes.
Performance Tracking & Optimization
Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate product success and ensure continuous improvement.
Conduct regular reviews of product performance, identifying areas for optimization and implementing solutions to maximize ROI.
Governance & Compliance
Ensure all digital products adhere to regulatory, cybersecurity, and data governance requirements specific to the electric utility industry.
Participate in risk assessments and work with IT and security teams to mitigate potential threats to product integrity.
Team & Organizational Development
Provide mentorship and thought leadership within the organization to promote best practices in product management.
Support organizational initiatives by driving the adoption and integration of new digital tools and platforms.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
5-6 years of related experience in product management and related disciplines.
Knowledge
Deep understanding of product management frameworks and methodologies, including Agile and Lean practices.
Familiarity with electric utility operations, regulatory environments, and domain-specific needs such as grid management, transmission planning, and asset management.
Expertise in digital product lifecycle management, including strategy, design, development, deployment, and scaling.
Knowledge of the vendor relationship management, particularly for bespoke software development and niche solutions.
Awareness of data governance principles, cybersecurity considerations, and IT/OT integration challenges.
Financial acumen, including budget management, ROI analysis, and business case development for technology investments.
Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to act as a bridge between technical teams, business stakeholders, and vendor partners.
Proficient in road-mapping, backlog management, and prioritization techniques to align product development with business goals.
Analytical and critical-thinking skills to evaluate product performance and adapt strategies.
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable plans for non-technical stakeholders.
Abilities
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and foster collaboration among internal and external stakeholders.
Capability to navigate ambiguity and manage competing priorities in a complex environment.

Education Requirements
Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
Bachelor
Preferred Disciplines: Business, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Liberal Arts
