About the Team

Bose Corporation is seeking a Software Project Manager to join the Consumer Products Software Program Management Team. Our Project Managers lead globally distributed, cross functional software engineering teams. PMs also work seamlessly with internal and external non-software teams to deliver both exceptional products and exceptional experiences made possible by the union of SW and HW.

About the Role

As the Project Manager you must be customer-focused and possess a strong whole product and systems-centric mindset. You must be both well-versed in software development and significant knowledge with hardware integration. You will be accountable for the development and delivery of software integration with our product(s) within the Consumer Products portfolio to meet vision, performance, financial and schedule commitments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage multiple priorities with the product development teams, discover, and eliminate complexity, bottlenecks, and ambiguity by working collaboratively. Help to make the right trade-offs, escalate issues if required, and always stay cognizant of continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Build valued working relationships with technical subject matter experts on the teams as well as with stakeholders and leadership.

  • Demonstrate exceptional organizational and leadership skill, outstanding written and verbal communication talent.

  • Do the right things to drive work and release planning, to smartly handle interdependencies between teams and disciplines.

  • Identify and manage technical and program risks throughout the project timeline.

  • Lead Software cross functional teams such as firmware, cloud, mobile app and user experience while aligning with product management roadmap and priorities (2-5 years exp)

  • Establish and clarify product and program objectives and ensure that the development team has the guidance and resources necessary to succeed.

  • Work with team leaders to create robust system (hardware and software) delivery plans (Schedules, resource plans, tooling and capital expense estimates, identify external dependencies, etc.)

  • Manage milestones or integration points for software deliverables to meet product development and validation requirements.

About You

  • Experience working with external technology, design, and development partners.

  • Strong background in consumer electronics engineering and design, including software and hardware integration.

  • Proven ability to lead a highly technical team of multi-disciplinary engineers.

  • Personal resilience and flexibility

  • Drive team building and leadership activities.

  • Confidence to communicate effectively with cross functional technical teams, business organizations, vendors and leadership.

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science or quantitative field

  • 5+ years of relevant experience within engineering domain, preferably product development role. General program management in a financial or IT systems organization doesn’t qualify.

  • 5+ years’ experience in a Project/Program Manager role

  • Scrum Master or SAFe certification a plus.
