Bose Senior Qualitative Consumer Researcher in Framingham, Massachusetts

Job Description

Bose Corporation is dedicated to developing breakthrough technologies and delivering experiences that enrich people's lives. To do so, we take a different approach than most companies. Our success in the complex and changing world of consumer electronics rests on our ability to out-smart rather than just out race the competition. Reaching our goals requires uniquely talented individuals with a strong desire to grow and achieve – individuals who share the values of passion, innovation, excellence and integrity that are embedded throughout our organization today.

The Consumer Research & Insights (CRI) team within Global Consumer Marketing is a highly influential team that inspires consumer centricity throughout Bose by partnering closely with internal stakeholders and delivering innovative and actionable insights. This multidisciplinary team works together to help Bose understand consumers, their problems and product needs, their motivations, how they make decisions, and how these are all changing.

Opportunity

CRI is looking to add another Senior Qualitative Consumer Researcher to the team. We are looking for an experienced qualitative researcher with a passion for deeply understanding of human needs, attitudes, and behaviors to join our team as a senior contributor.

While the team works collaboratively on a wide variety of projects across the value chain, this individual will focus primarily on foundational and generative work that drives innovation in our product categories, such as jobs to be done in the audio space, and on work to assess early-stage product ideas.

In this role, you will use your creative energy and research expertise to scope, design, execute, and report qualitative research projects using a mix of online and offline methodologies and supported by an expanding toolset of traditional and emerging tools. You will work expansively across the organization to inspire action from a wide variety of audiences, all the way up to the C-suite, through storytelling, compelling reports, and effective engagement with stakeholders. You will also work collegially within the team with other qualitative researchers on shared projects and with quantitative researchers so that they can incorporate the output of your work into their work.

Qualifications

Join our dynamic team if you have:

· Natural curiosity about why consumers think and act the way they do at the intersection of human beings and technology.

· Strong methodological foundation in qualitative research, including, but not limited to, ethnography, in-depth interviews, focus groups, online journaling & interviews, and community moderation. Experience with quantitative methods a plus.

· Demonstrated success in applying innovation frameworks such as design thinking to product innovation problems.

· Skills as an effective storyteller, communicating complex insights to company leaders in a way that gets stakeholders to think differently and inspires them to act.

· Experience facilitating workshops and ideation sessions to translate insights about human needs into product ideas and business opportunities.

· Collaborative energy and enthusiastic team engagement including demonstrated success working directly with quantitative researchers to effectively incorporate qualitative findings into quantitative research.

· A growth mindset and stay at the forefront of consumer research methodologies by seeking out new techniques, methodologies, and frameworks by following blogs, publications, and thought leaders in the space. Ideally you already have experience with some of the emerging AI tools in this space.

· Bachelors (graduate degree(s) highly desired) in a relevant field,

· Minimum seven years of industry experience in fieldwork involving consumer products (consumer-electronics experience is particularly beneficial).
