About the Team

While most of the technologies and experiences are currently deployed through our internal global team of Audio and Active Sound Management engineers, this position will enhance the level of quality, accuracy and operational efficiency in how our global team of Audio and Active Sound Management engineers is embracing new technologies and experiences and enabling consistent best results.

About the Role

This role is in close collaboration with the audio and active sound management global technical leads as well as our global field engineers. This role promotes technical excellence in project delivery based on sound scientific and engineering principles, quality, and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and an environment of continuous improvement. The technical excellence leader promotes work according to a plan and reference design, while tracking outstanding events to be integrated as lessons learnt. The role will involve a solid connection with our global audio and noise delivery team across different languages, culture and customers with the objective to maintain a common and stable understanding on how to reach the performance dimensions associated to the Bose brand. Please note: This role comes with roughly 50% travel to our international locations.

Responsibilities:

  • This is an Individual Contributor role, no direct reports. However, you will be training and mentoring within an org of 50 individuals.

  • Participate in the early definition of new audio and active sound management experiences and is responsible to achieve a good level of documentation to support the deployment

  • Contribute to Beta testing new technologies together with complementary roles with a focus on the methodology, deployment training, practicality, and scaling.

  • Influence how experiences are deployable in an efficient, flawless, and scalable manner.

  • Develop a short-term, mid-term and long-term plan to improve the practice and foster a culture of community and collaboration in support of the Bose brand.

  • Work with partner to create and maintain content in an efficient more than exhaustive manner (targeting most impactful aspects of technologies, across cultures and customer space).

  • Rolling out regular iterations of methods, tools and algorithms updates within a very live working environment

About You

  • The Embedded Acoustics Engineer is an experienced influential engineer with a large span of understanding from software (Matlab, Embedded,…) to embedded electronics, including transducers, acoustics, mechanical integration.

  • Good documentation, and teaching/transmission skills

  • Background in instructional design or noise and audio engineering is a plus.

  • Mindful, respectful and inclusive about worldwide cultures and passionate at coordinating a common understanding of the Bose brand experience in that context.

  • Understanding field engineering context, where Audio and Active Sound Management engineers are working in isolation, at the customer under strict time and performance constraint.

  • Disciplined and organized to bring technical and methodical clarity towards a global team.

  • Technical documentation leadership especially towards efficiency and configuration management, track record of experience in that field is a strong desire.

  • Quick and open minded at embracing new technologies.

  • Comfortable with unstable environment when technologies are in permanent morphing

  • Proposing, influencing, and acting on improvements.
