About the Team

Advancing our cornerstone technologies requires great people.  We want you to be part of the technical leadership team that brings the best in noise reduction, immersive out-loud audio and personal wearable audio to life.  We are looking for an experienced, hands-on DSP engineering leader who is interested in advancing unique DSP capabilities and applying them to a product development environment.

About the Role

We are looking for the right candidate to add to our Consumer Audio leadership team with a focus on our OutLoud Audio products (soundbars and speakers). You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of technologies that include multi-channel audio signal processing and platform algorithm development through direct technical contribution and leadership of others. You will help us combine traditional signal processing methods with ML/AI methods to shape new customer experiences. You will collaborate with a variety of disciplines beyond audio development engineering including product management, research, embedded software and user experience. This position is a fantastic opportunity for a highly driven individual who wants to make a significant impact on the future of our products and brand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct ownership of the architecture, design, implementation, and testing of algorithms to solve technical challenges for new high-volume products

  • Demonstrate and deliver new benefits for our customers using innovative applications of technologies like spatial audio and machine learning

  • Apply technical creativity and industry experience to help define and strengthen new product ideas

  • Work closely with embedded software and system engineering teams to influence future technology roadmaps as well as compute platforms and capabilities

  • Collaborate with our Technology Licensing group to deliver algorithms and signal processing solutions as protected intellectual property to technology partners

  • Manage a staff of DSP Engineers and leverage external engineering partners as business needs require

About You

The ideal candidate will have a large subset of the following characteristics:

  • A strong interest in consumer electronics and audio products

  • Demonstrated expertise in embedded DSP for consumer products

  • Demonstrated experience in multi-channel audio processing

  • Demonstrable expertise in programming signal processing algorithms using high-level (C, Python and Matlab) and low-level languages, as well as code optimization experience with production target systems

  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to discuss complex technical issues with experts in other fields and business stakeholders

  • Experience with managing and directing experienced technical staff in both onsite and remote environments

Education/Experience:

  • BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other Signal Processing related degree, MS strongly preferred

  • 12+ years of relevant work experience, including personnel management
