About the Role

  • The Bose Corporation is actively seeking a Director of Internal Audit that will report to the Chief Financial Officer, with a dotted line to the Audit Committee

  • This person will provide expertise and independent judgement in the interpretation and application of Global Accounting standards and the treatment of financial transactions related to the business

  • The potential hire will direct all Internal Audit activities through effective risk assessment and execution of projects. This includes developing audit procedures, policies, guidelines and standards as it relates to the overall company or the appropriate business units or functions

  • Develop a formal reporting system to communicate results of audits to senior management in order to drive appropriate action

  • Manage the audit process in order to assess information integrity, transaction accuracy, compliance and management effectiveness.

  • Work with management as an advisor on systems, processes and technology procedures and controls

  • Ensures that identified issues are well defined and root causes are determined

  • Works with management in all areas to enhance the contribution of the audit function as it relates to overall business activities of the company

  • Report audit findings, recommendations, and areas of risk to the audit committee at regular meetings and upon request

  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function

  • Domestic and International travel based on projects and team development

Requirements

  • 15 plus years of overall business experience with10 years or more in the Audit space supporting all facets of the business

  • Experience managing global teams

  • Experience working in versatile industries and organizational exposure

  • Must have experience setting clear objectives for the audit team, monitor progress and report to management.

  • Must be able to operate autonomously and lead a small staff of audit professionals who are globally distributed

  • Works closely with all levels of the Bose organization up to and including Sr. Executives

  • Must possess strong oral, written and presentation skills.

  • Able to make persuasive, logical arguments and display thought leadership

  • Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously and collaboratively with internal and external teams to drive positive solutions that are adopted and implemented

  • Requires audit knowledge and skills in finance/accounting and/or information systems and business operations

Education / Certifications:

  • BS/BA in a related technology or business discipline; masters degree preferred or relevant work experience

  • CIA certification is required

  • CPA is nice to have
