Job Description

Job Title: Workplace Services Auditorium and Conference Room Support AV Technician

Location: Framingham Campus

Schedule: Full-time, 7:30am-4:00pm, with occasional after-hours support

Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Workplace Services AV Technician for Bose Auditorium production and conference room support. As a team member of the Bose AV Team you will contribute to our multi-talented team of technical and creative AV technicians in a busy meeting environment utilizing the best in class technology. This role is ideal for a collaborative, creative and inclusive individual with a ‘can-do’ attitude, focused on customer service and execution of flawless live production events. The successful candidate will be a solutions seeker and client relationship builder including strong AV skills include knowledge of previous AV installations, rack mounting, signal testing and cable pathways, along with a good foundational understanding of IP networking. The candidate will also have solid technical production skills in a few areas such as: AV, video production or technical theater production such as DMX lighting operation & design, Microsoft PowerPoint decks, audio mixing, PTZ camera robotics control, AV control systems, and corporate video virtual meeting production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a team of Conference Room AV Technicians to schedule and service approximately 50 conference rooms integrated with Microsoft Teams, webcams, mics, and speakers.

  • Provide technical support and “white glove” level service for our 300-seat Auditorium, assisting with live events and meetings for approximately 20-25 hours per week.

  • Set up and support AV equipment for daily meetings, special events, remote events and product demonstrations.

  • Ability to schedule and coordinate third party vendor meetings for repairs or installations.

  • Manage and communicate meeting details using an online room reservation and scheduling tool linked with Microsoft Teams and Outlook calendars.

  • Operate and maintain video conferencing equipment, perform routine and preventative maintenance AV equipment and systems.

  • Report issues and status updates in a timely manner to team and management, follow proper escalation procedures.

  • Able to read and understand AV schematics, blueprints for signal flow troubleshooting.

  • Coordinate and assist with AV setups and adjustments in various on-campus building locations.

  • AV technicians sometimes set up and alter room arrangements including tables, seats, pipe/drape, scenery, lighting, and stages according to blueprints, layout diagrams, and schedules.

  • Utilize an online work order system for equipment maintenance, inventory tracking, and customer support ticketing.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • People person with a focus on proactive teamwork, communication and collaboration.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience supporting videoconferencing productions, & operating AV equipment.

  • Experience with Dante, A/VoIP, Extron, Shure, Crestron, Biamp, Neat and/or LogiTech.

  • Production control room experience a plus i.e. audio, cameras, lighting, editing or technical theatre.

  • Performed routine testing and problem diagnostics (Using Crestron & Logitech) for projectors, microphones, speakers, amplifiers & LCD/plasma displays.

  • Ability to understand signal flow and all aspects of troubleshooting various AV technologies including working with third part AV technology teams.

  • Fundamentals of computer networking comprehension and configuration skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and a strong professional presence.

  • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • AVIXA-Recognized AV Technology Certificate; Certified Technology Specialist preferred.

  • 2 or 3 of the following skills: video playback & editing, lighting, streaming, technical directions, graphics, audio production, or PTZ cameras robotics.

  • Knowledge of video projectors and screens.

  • Knowledgeable and up to date on the latest trends in AV equipment and technology

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft 365 including Visio, PowerPoint, Sharepoint/web design and MS Teams.

  • Perform asset inventory and regular preventative maintenance on all equipment.

  • Physical ability to lift up and transport moderately heavy objects such as computers, monitors and speakers.
