Summary:This Physician Assistant will provide instructional design services at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, in support of the, Curriculum Development Division, Academy of Health Sciences (AHS), U.S. Army Medical Department Center and School (AMEDDC&S).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position):

  • Personnel shall adhere to the instructional strategies, techniques, processes, plans of instructions, and activities in accordance with the current, established TCMC program of instruction.

  • Primarily assigned to the Center for Pre-hospital Medicine (CPHM) to fulfill the training mission and then further assigned to one of the Center's teaching branches during defined times of student training rotations, or will be required to meet with the Director, CPHM or his/her designee.

  • Shall complete a Workplace Occupational Health Assessment with a licensed medical and/or occupational health provider within 30 days of start date. Government will provide the required checklist/approval forms for completion.

  • Instructor staff shall have an active affiliation with NAEMT and a training background in Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TC3).

  • Instructor staff shall complete Animal Use Protocol (AUP) training within 14 days of contract award.

  • Instructor Staff shall be physically fit to the extent they can perform all tasks required of the students and to the same standard.

  • Instructor Staff shall be able to complete the required instructional tasks to deliver high quality instruction in accordance with TCMC standards and protocols.

  • Course length is forty hours/5 days (up to 50 iterations annually).

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.):

  • Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Committee on Certification Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or higher.

  • Be a graduate of a Physician Assistant Training Program accredited by the Accreditation Review.
