The Community Addiction Recovery Enterprise (CARE) in Fergus Falls, MN is seeking a talented, mission driven, person-centered Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor to join our team and make a difference in the lives of others. CARE specializes in providing residential treatment services for adults with substance use and co-occurring disorders. As a Licensed Alcohol Drug Counselor, you will provide professional level counseling and treatment coordination for clients with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders in a residential treatment setting.

Job Duties Include:

  • Serve as an integral part of a cohesive multidisciplinary team, supporting the implementation of treatment among team members for clients with co-occurring conditions.

  • Completion of an assessment to identify level of care and comprehensive needs of individuals, including substance use, behavioral and medical needs.

  • Development and implementation of a person-centered treatment plan, including the delivery of professional counseling and education in individual and group settings.

  • Provision of treatment coordination and identification of appropriate aftercare recommendations. Treatment coordination includes collaboration with clients, case managers, and identified support persons to develop aftercare plans that address recovery needs.

  • Participation in clinical consultation with multidisciplinary team members, facilitating a collaborative team approach to client care.

This announcement is being posted at the Clinical Program Therapist 1, Clinical Program Therapist 2 and Clinical Program Therapist 3 levels. Only one level will be filled and the level at which the position will be filled will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must:

Clinical Program Therapist 1 (CPT 1):

  • Have a Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social work, behavior analysis, or related field; AND

  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure* by the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) or equivalently qualified to perform alcohol and drug counseling under Minnesota Statute 148F.11 (https://www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/cite/148F.025) .

(*NOTE TO CPT 1 LICENSE-ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS: Please include information regarding your license-eligibility in your resume or application. To maintain employment, the successful candidate who is eligible for LADC licensure must possess a temporary ADC permit within 60 calendar days of the first day of employment and a current LADC license within 6 months of the first day of employment. License-eligible applicants will be hired under a provisional appointment.)

Clinical Program Therapist 2 (CPT 2):

  • Have a Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social work, behavior analysis, or related field; AND

  • Be licensed or eligible for licensure by the State of Minnesota as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor; AND

  • Have one (1) year of post-Bachelor's degree experience providing behavioral health services.

OR

  • Have a Master Degree in psychology, social work, or related behavioral or social science program; AND

  • Be licensed or eligible for licensure by the State of Minnesota as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor

Clinical Program Therapist 3 (CPT 3):

  • Have a Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social work, behavior analysis, or related field; AND

  • Be licensed or eligible for licensureby the State of Minnesota as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor; AND

  • Have three (3) years of post-Bachelor's degree experience providing clinical services.

OR

  • Have a Master Degree in psychology, social work, behavior analysis, or related behavioral or social science program; AND

  • Be licensed or eligible for licensureby the State of Minnesota as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor; AND

  • Have one (1) year of post-Master's degree experience providing clinical services including individual and group therapy and interventions.
