State of Minnesota Chemical Dependency Program Assistant in Fergus Falls, Minnesota

Job Summary ## Job Summary This announcement will be used to fill multiple permanent, full-time and part-time vacancies. Shift may be rotating (day/evening) or night shift. CARE Fergus Falls is seeking a talented and dedicated individual to engage in an extraordinary opportunity to be a part of a new, innovative chemical dependency treatment facility that provides treatment for individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders who are civilly committed for treatment. This is a state-of-the-art facility specializing in the delivery of services to individuals with high medical needs, including pregnant women. The Chemical Dependency Program Assistant will upport the activities of the treatment program by providing flexible services that address program and client needs at Community Addiction Recovery Enterprise (CARE); assist in the provision of treatment services by providing an array of services that meet program and client needs; coordinate and document the Drug and Alcohol Abuse Normative Evaluation System (DAANES) for report to the Department of Human Services and Complete Medical Assistance and General Assistance Applications; coordinate and enter Mental Health Statistics Improvement Program (MHSIP) Survey into data base; maintain all aspects of the counseling office i.e. supplies, equipment, training, filing systems, copier, fax; manage all aspects of the reviewing and entering incident reports. Responsibilities include: * Provide services to Community Addiction Recovery Enterprise clients consistent with procedures and standards. * Design, develop and ensure implementation of a variety of programming to aid in the development of the client's growth and recovery. * Lead groups of clients examining issues related to chemical dependency and daily living skills so that obstacles to treatment progress are identified and overcome. * Carrying out assigned tasks to include but not limited to transporting clients to appointments. * Document and verbally report so that accurate records are kept and continuum of care is provided. * Complete intake process to ensure that the clients are admitted promptly, courteously and efficiently. Qualifications ## Minimum Qualifications NOTE - To facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that you clearly describe your knowledge/ability in the areas listed below. To qualify, applicants must have all of the following: * Knowldege of standard psychological test sufficient to administer and score them for interpretation by professional staff. * Knowledge of Alcoholics Anonymous principles sufficient to orient new clients to the program. * Knowledge of treatment processes sufficient to read and assist with the implementation of individual treatment plans, explain program objectives to clients and facilitate group discussions. * Ability to lead recreational activities for clients. * Ability to read and write English sufficient to record client history and document client physical and behavioral information on medical charts.
