Challenge Unlimited Manager A Quick Bite Cafe in Edwardsville, Illinois
HOURS: 7:30am-3:30pm with occasional (maybe once every 3 months) after-hours catering duties
LOCATION: The address is 157 N. Main, Edwardsville in the Madison County Administration Building.
You would need to have or obtain your Food safety manager certification. It would be preferable that you have some experience as a DSP and a short-order cook.
*Client Relations. *Promote a culture of person-centered services that advances the Company’s mission to provide quality care and services in a community-based setting to individuals with disabilities. Ensure a high rate of client satisfaction. Communicate effectively with clients regarding the progress toward goals and program success. Review client files and participate in necessary training regarding clients and their individual needs. Ensure SDS book is organized and current. Follow and enforce OSHA regulations. Complete incident and/or accident reports in accordance with Company policies. Provide a safe environment for all workers and customers. Take preventative and corrective action as needed. Conduct safety training, inspections, and ensure workers utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Demonstrate our Company values to achieve optimum performance levels and achieve goals and objectives.
*Budget. *Manage labor and supply costs to meet budget plans. Order food, cleaning chemicals, and other supplies necessary to meet the contract requirements and maintain proper inventory levels and accountability for ensuring the site is properly stocked to support the menu. Schedule client workers to adequately perform contract requirements and forecast staffing needs by tracking trends in contract needs and changes. Manage special project scheduling requirements. Ensure accuracy and safety of all revenues collected and responsible for daily deposits and cash drawers.
*Effective Leadership. *Direct supervision of client and staff workers ensuring work is performed according to the agency and contract’s statement of work, company policies, and procedures, and workers are knowledgeable of information that comes from corporate administration. Schedule, train, complete-time studies and timekeeping for workers. Train client workers on skills specific to foodservice. Conduct safety training, inspections, and ensure workers utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Complete incident and/or accident reports in accordance with Company policies. Provide a safe environment for all workers and customers. Take preventative and corrective action as needed. Ensure that workers adhere to safety guidelines and policies. Communicate job expectations; motivate, coach, and counsel employees. Build an effective company culture that embodies our Company values to achieve optimum performance levels and achieve goals and objectives.
*Work Area Maintenance. *Maintain cleanliness and sanitation required by both the health department and the Company. Work with management to maintain compliance for quality standards. Complete regular and deep cleaning as required by cleaning schedule. Assure all appliances are in working order and within the operational standards set forth by the foodservice sanitation guidelines. Ensure full compliance in bi-annual county health department inspections. Ensure SDS book is organized and current. Follow and enforce OSHA regulations.
*Customer Satisfaction. *Assure food is appealing, palatable, and prepared safely. Develop professional working partnerships with current and potential key site representatives, vendors, and site occupants. Assure expectations of internal as well as external customers are met. Promptly correct any deficiencies and rectify any customer complaints. Assure client workers are interacting with customers in an appropriate, professional manner.
High School diploma or G.E.D.
5 years of experience working in food service and 2 years of experience with food service management. Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities or Mental Illness is preferred. Specific working knowledge in food preparation, menu planning, sanitation guidelines & Safety Data Sheets required.
Currently possess Food Service Sanitation License. CPR/First Aid and Crisis Prevention Training, DSP Certification.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Must learn and complete timekeeping systems and processes and electronic record keeping documentation. Must be proficient at internet usage including ability to order online.
Must pass criminal background check, various State and Federal registry checks, DCFS Abuse and Neglect Tracking System check, driving history check. Maintain valid driver’s license and be 21 or older to drive on Company business (age 25 or older if needed to drive 15-person capacity van).
Use of personal insured vehicle for Company related travel is required.
May occasionally drive Company vehicle to transport clients for community work or activities or for meetings.
