KPMG Risk Administrator – KPMG Law (12-month contract) in Edmonton, Alberta

Overview

At KPMG, you’ll join a team of diverse and dedicated problem solvers, connected by a common cause: turning insight into opportunity for clients and communities around the world.

Provide support to KPMG Law Partners / Engagement Teams in by coordinating and managing internal Risk Management workflows/approvals required during the client/engagement acceptance process on behalf of the Engagement Team.

This is a hybrid role with the required work hours of 8:30 AM EST to 5:00 PM MST.

What you will do

  • Document and facilitate the file opening process for the KPMG Law Group

  • Ensure Entity and Opportunity information received from Lawyers/Engagement Team is correct, and pro-actively follow up for missing information and/ for clarifications if required

  • Create new Entity and Opportunity records in CRM database

  • Ensure required risk management /compliance information (i.e. Know Your Client, Client Acceptance and Engagement Evaluation details) is received from the Lawyers/Engagement Team and pro-actively follow up for missing information

  • Process and submit requests in KPMGs’ proprietary systems (i.e. IBS, Sentinel and CEAC) which facilitates compliance with Firm and Regulatory policies; follow up on outstanding approvals and investigate discrepancies

  • Prepare Engagement Letters to ensure scope of work is clearly outlined and follow up on discrepancies

  • Ensure mitigation requirements (i.e. Prepare ethical dividers, disclosures, consent, conflict letters) are highlighted and provided to the Lawyers to action/follow through

  • Main point of contact for the Lawyers /Engagement Team’s queries on internal risk management requests and process

  • Act as a subject matter expert for KPMG Law’s internal risk management process

  • Engage with KPMG’s National Risk Management Centre to keep up to date with new policy or procedural changes, problem solve and provide insight on trends to provide optimal support.

  • Proactively engage in interactions in a professional manner with a one team mentality to achieve SLA and turnaround targets to ensure a high service level

What you bring to the role

  • College diploma or an equivalent combination of education / experience in a professional environment.

  • Minimum 5 years administration experience.

  • Good judgment and analytical skills.

  • Excellent written and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Advanced skills with MS Office Products. In particular, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint etc.

  • Experience in the areas of quality control, risk management / compliance would be an asset.
