This Sr. Technical Product Manager will be focused on defining strategy, building product backlog, and managing key initiatives while partnering closely with engineering to drive fraud prevention and mitigation related advancements across entire consumer payments products and capabilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with our internal and external partners to bring our payment technology vision to life in a fast-paced environment

  • Develop and implement strategies to proactively identify and prevent payment fraud across all business units and product lines

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and anticipate emerging fraud trends and implement appropriate risk mitigation measures

  • Conduct regular analysis and reporting to monitor the effectiveness of fraud prevention efforts and make recommendations for improvement

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on payment fraud prevention, staying up-to-date on industry best practices and regulations

  • Lead and mentor a team of product managers, providing guidance and support in developing and executing fraud prevention initiatives

  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to educate clients on fraud prevention measures and promote our company's commitment to security

  • Identify and evaluate potential partnerships and technologies to enhance our fraud prevention capabilities

  • Develop and manage budgets for fraud prevention initiatives and monitor expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness

  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure all fraud prevention efforts are in compliance with regulatory requirements

  • Continuously assess and improve fraud detection and prevention processes and procedures to maintain the highest level of security for our clients

  • Participate in industry conferences and events to stay informed on the latest fraud prevention trends and network with other professionals in the field

  • Communicate with senior management on the status of fraud prevention efforts, highlighting successes, challenges, and areas for improvement

  • Act as a liaison between the product development team and business units to ensure fraud prevention features are incorporated into new products and capability updates

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry experts, to gather insights and feedback on fraud prevention measures

  • Adhere to company policies and procedures and promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior within the team

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of product manager experience, including experience in defining, owning, and managing product design and roadmap. Preferably in the financial services or fintech industry, with a track record of progressive leadership and achievement. Card (Credit and Debit) Issuing risk management experience preferred including Strategy and rule ownership

  • 3+ years of experience overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle

  • 3+ years of experience in managing highly effective cross-functional teams

  • 3+ years of data analytics and data science background with SQL skills and ability to work with large and complex data. Knowledge and experience with Applied Machine Learning and AI tactics and use

  • 3+ years of product management experience and technical acumen to define and execute scalable solutions and work closely with product development teams to guide strategic development

  • 3+ years of expertise in risk principles, methodologies, and regulatory requirements, with a focus on card risk management practices

  • 3+ years of expertise with industry trends impacting financial institutions related to check and ACH fraud, risk management systems, fraud prevention tools, and dispute tracking systems

  • 3+ years of experience implementing Fraud prevention controls and Fraud monitoring tracking in retail Fintech Fraud solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency and experience developing and optimizing Structured Query Language (SQL) to analyze and query data

  • Experience in Fintech, healthcare, health insurance or any one or combination thereof

  • Detail oriented with critical thinking skills – ability to break down initiative-level requirements into feature and story attribute level details

  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously; strategic thinking with ability to build solid working relationships across organizational teams in a fast-paced and changing environment

  • Ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences

  • Demonstrated success defining and launching products in an Agile environment

  • Proficient in designing and documenting user flows and workflows to support application development

  • Experience using quantitative and qualitative data to assess priorities and influence roadmaps

  • Experience using data analysis tools (e.g., A|B test software, Tableau) and/or scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python) to inform product decisions

  • Skilled and experienced using Agile/Scrum or similar methodologies, Jira, writing user stories, and managing backlog

  • Knowledge in technical stack, platform architecture, and software integration design, and APIs

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate with non-technical and technical people inside and outside the organization

  • Exceptional product roadmap creation & execution skills

  • Technical skills to translate business requirements into terms that developers can understand

  • Excellent communication skills; written, verbal and formal presentation

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
