Primary Responsibilities:

Optum Serve is dedicated to serving our nation's military and Veterans. The Talent Advocate is a lifelong learner who is focused on inspiring individuals to be their best self, serving as an advocate and finding new ways to increase employee experience. Below highlights their key responsibilities:

  • Establishes personal trust with employees to establish their career goals and objectives

  • Researches trends within the workplace and identify best practices to increase employee engagement and satisfaction

  • Builds communication channels with subject matter experts and leaders to receive regular feedback on employees’ domain knowledge and performance

  • Manages all hiring processes to include: conducts initial behavioral interviews, coordinates interviews with subject matter experts, manages the selection process, and recommends compensation package

  • Works with the business segment liaison (BSL) to ensure new employees receive proper welcome kit and equipment

  • Oversees new employee onboarding to ensure it is completed on-time and effectively

  • Monitors employees’ PTO balance and utilization

  • Promotes and tracks continuous learning and growth

  • Completes timesheet approvals, ensuring compliance with Optum Serve time coding standards

  • Creates & delivers annual reviews, which incorporates 360 feedback from colleagues, technical leads, and leaders

  • Manages both the voluntary and involuntary termination processes for employees

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience handling employee relations activities to include professional career development, hiring, and terminations

  • 1+ years of experience working closely with technology professionals or as a technology professional

Preferred Qualifications:

  • National Career Readiness Certificate

  • 5+ years of experience handling employee relations activities to include professional career development, hiring, and terminations

  • 3+ years of experience working closely with technology professionals or as a technology professional

  • Healthcare industry experience

  • Experience working with federal contracts

  • Proven ability to build solid relationships and trust with a large amount of individuals

  • Proven self-starter and holds self accountable to work independently with little guidance

  • Proven solidly skilled communicator able to tailor their communication style to a variety of individuals

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
