The SVP of Marketing will serve as the marketing lead for the Care Solutions business within Optum Health. Optum Health is an integrated direct care delivery platform and our products and services provide comprehensive solutions, addressing broad needs across the health system. Optum Health solutions span the entire care continuum and include consumer engagement and well-being programs, value-oriented patient care, chronic condition management solutions, behavioral services, post-acute care and health care financial services. Optum Health serves more than 100 million consumers across the United States.

In concert with business leaders, product, sales and finance, the leader will empower their team of health care marketers in the advancement of fully integrated, omni-channel, data-driven, go-to-market strategies, programs and campaigns to drive growth, engagement and retention aligned to the consumer and B2B goals of the Optum Health Care Solutions business.

As Optum Health continues to transform care delivery and advance whole health, the leader will be instrumental to shape, support and articulate the impact of marketing, clearly communicating measurable value while building a thriving culture that embraces inclusion and diversity and champions career development. The leader will report to the Optum Health CMO while directly supporting the Care Solutions business within Optum Health.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and manage execution of the short and long-term marketing strategies to drive differentiation and measurable consumer and B2B results aligned to business plans and priorities

  • Assist in product and market positioning, go to market and launch strategies considering consumer, employer, payer and provider segments

  • Manage the development and execution of enrollment and retention across business lines to meet key targets and performance goals

  • Drive alignment across Optum Health businesses and functions to coordinate Optum, UHC and UHG resources to promote cross-business ‘consumer-first’ and ‘client-first’ opportunities and experiences

  • Drive innovation and actively seek new ways to grow and improve, including modernizing the marketing organization and approaches for achieving growth objectives across the business

  • Develop integrated consumer and B2B marketing programs utilizing research, data, insights, media, channels and content for measurable growth with consumer, employer, payer and provider segments

  • Ensure marketing teams are current on market, segment and consumer trends, including competitive market dynamics to identify opportunities for shifting segment, audience and product needs

  • Advance our data-driven marketing agenda to deliver on outcomes, results and increased speed to market; inspire digital innovation and marketing modernization; ensure attribution and measurement

  • Establish, measure, and optimize standardized KPIs in alignment with the business, financial, and marketing goals while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement

  • Support and apply brand standards across business units, ensuring consistency for optimal customer experience while building overall brand awareness and equity

  • Manage marketing budgets to confirm initiatives and functions are managed within guidelines for ROI and cost management while implementing integration plans from M&A and consolidation opportunities

  • Develop and execute effective workforce strategy, including attracting and retaining talent, deploying talent against organizational needs and fostering positive employee experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 10+ years proven success as a consumer-first, data-centric, digital-first, business-minded, strategic marketing leader, driving measurable results and return on marketing investment

  • Proven consumer and B2B marketing leader with a strong proficiency in go-to-market strategies and functional marketing leadership, working across sales, product and finance functions

  • Demonstrated superior intellectual capacity and sound judgment to lead and activate in changing ambiguous environments

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and influence within a large, matrix organization

  • Brings fresh ideas and new thinking to daily challenges; views change opportunistically; energized and passionate; can promote ideas and concepts across an organization yet with feasible and practical plans

  • High EQ and self-awareness, shows confidence, consistency and perseverance in addressing challenges and overcoming obstacles; demonstrates initiative, stamina and a strong work ethic

  • Collaborative leader with experience and capability to manage, motivate and develop a staff and attract and retain outstanding talent; someone who empowers team members and holds them accountable

  • Superior written and verbal presentation skills
