As a Client Engagement Manager on the Payer Services Delivery (PSD) team, you will function as the primary client interface and an extension of Payer Services Delivery Operations and Support Services. In this role, you will be responsible for leading initiatives and outcomes for our clients by creating a collaborative, high performance work environment, continually addressing issues in operations, quality, and performance, and ensuring quantifiable, sustainable outcomes in the delivery of client/partner results.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • End-to-end responsibility for:

  • Ensuring the Optum PSD suite of metrics and KPIs for each client accurately and comprehensively reflect client financial and operational priorities

  • Developing and managing all client metric reporting definitions and requirements for both internal and external usage

  • Monitoring client level performance against internal Optum PSD metrics and client level SLAs and KPIs in order to facilitate early issue detection

  • Where anomalies exist between actual performance and client SLAs or internal Optum RKPI PSD targets, assemble and lead multi-functional teams to understand root cause, build and manage remediation plans until expected performance levels are achieved

  • Utilize matrix management skills to build multi-functional teams which achieve desired business outcomes

  • Regular monitoring of inventory performance (volumes, dollars, capacity, backlogs, etc.)

  • Collaborative internal calendar planning and report out with PSD Operational leaders

  • Developing, executing, and monitoring client-oriented program planning coordination across PSD inclusive of expense reduction planning with functional leaders and revenue growth planning with Client Relationship Executive (CRE)

  • Regular KPI monitoring & deep dive reviews for client SLAs, cost, plan achievement, compliance & policy adherence

  • Fostering effective communication and building relationships with clients and internal matrixed teams

  • As business performance and client needs evolve, partnering with the CRE to manage operationally oriented communications to both client and Optum PSD senior executives necessary to drive successful business outcomes

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of client management experience within the healthcare delivery system interfacing, building, and maintaining rapport and influence with enterprise level executives

  • 5+ years of Payer Services Delivery leadership experience overseeing Front, Middle, and/or Back office operations

  • Experience in Clinical Healthcare Solutions

  • Experience analyzing complex market opportunities and develop creative solutions to a variety of unique market problems

  • Demonstrated ability to make strategic, operational and administrative decisions in response to emerging conditions and environmental circumstances

  • Proven ability to provide recommendations and insight regarding improvements to internal and external processes

  • Proven ability to manage and support organizational change and help assist individuals through the transition

  • Proven excellent communication, leadership, customer service, and problem-solving skills

  • Willing and able to travel 25%-50% of the time on a sustained basis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Optum Integrated Care Suite or Health Edge clinical software

  • Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products

  • Proven advanced consultative selling skills with the ability to successfully construct solutions

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
