UnitedHealth Group Manager, Proposal Content and Development - Pharmacy Benefits Management - Remote in EST or CST in Eden Prairie, Minnesota

The Content Management and Development Manager is responsible for the development and management of standard proposal content as performed by a team of individuals, Content Development and Outreach Analysts. The manager trains and coaches individuals who are responsible for: internal research through organizational Subject Matter Experts (SME) for development of new standard content based on that research, support SME outreach requests for live RFPs, and regular maintenance of the standard content for accuracy and timeliness through periodic review of the materials with the SME. The manager supports the team’s use of the RFPIO/Responsive proposal database tool for the associated workflow. The manager also contributes to projects that support the team’s or the overall department’s initiatives.

If you are located in the EST or CST time zones, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight to team member internal SME research to fulfill proposal inquiries

  • Provide oversight to team member standard proposal content (including language and exhibit material) development based on SME research

  • Provide oversight to team member maintenance of standard proposal content based on periodic review with the SME

  • Provide oversight to team member use of proposal database for outreach, content maintenance and development

  • Maintain a working knowledge of the topics for which the team is responsible and working relationships with SMEs to proactively support the quality and accuracy of proposal responses and standard content

  • Actively seek and implement ways to make standard content strategic, compelling and competitive in the market

  • Coach team members to achieve quality standard proposal responses that may be used on an ongoing basis

  • Collaborate with UnitedHealth Group businesses to assure content integrity and message alignment as needed

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of RFP and sales strategy documents

  • Ensure team adherence to Style Guide, grammar and spelling rules

  • Assist team members in writing ad hoc proposal responses and standard responses appropriate for use in the proposal database, where necessary

  • Drive adoption of the RFPIO/Responsive tool and actively seek out improvements to established processes

  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of team process documentation, trainings, presentations and reference materials

  • Drive team knowledge sharing with internal customers via newsletters and team meetings

  • Provide direct feedback to team members to foster a learning and growth environment and encourage heightened team member engagement through open collaboration and idea sharing

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of PBM knowledge

  • 5+ years of proposal-related experience and content management

  • Proven solid written and oral communication skills

  • Proven strategic proposal writing experience

  • Proven track record of exceptional workflow and timeline management

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications

  • Previous experience, coaching, mentoring, acting SME or team lead

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with RFPIO/Responsive proposal management tool

  • Previous experience leading a team with direct reports

  • Experience managing the RFP survey question outreach, collection, database input process

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
