Primary Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Architect: Manage an indirect spend-base of nearly $20 billion annually and collaborate with over 10,000 vendor partners

  • Global Team Leader: Lead and align hundreds of employees worldwide to fulfill our mission and role

  • Executive Influencer & Collaborator: Utilize exceptional communication skills to influence and collaborate with senior executives and inspire others

  • Innovation Driver: Apply your technical expertise and procurement experience across multiple categories to innovate and optimize our processes

  • Risk Mitigator: Manage risk in a highly regulated industry with precision and expertise, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and actively managing risk exposure

  • Procurement Pro: Extensive procurement experience with deep technical knowledge and a proven track record across multiple categories

  • Global Breadth: Experienced in leading teams across different continents and time zones, inspiring and utilizing their talents to provide excellent customer service

  • Communication Expert: Exceptional influencing and communication skills with the ability to accurately simplify complex situations

  • Advanced Negotiator: Elite negotiation skills to secure the best deals and partnerships

  • Risk Response: Stay ahead of potential risks by proactively identifying and mitigating them, and by responding to incidents with agility

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of sourcing and procurement management/leadership experience and customer relationship management

  • Significant experience managing centralized and enterprise-wide indirect spend

  • Experience in supply chain technology/processes, including e-procurement

  • Demonstrated ability managing cost performance, supply/demand forecasting across a variety of commodities from multiple sources required

  • Solid analytical and financial skills required

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, works well in a team environment, able to work in diverse environments and adhere to highest ethical standards

  • Experience successfully managing staff, including both domestic and international, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a Chief Procurement Officer would be beneficial

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington residents is $275,000-$350,000 per year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
