UnitedHealth Group Associate Finance Director - Hybrid or Remote in Eden Prairie, Minnesota

The Associate Finance Director is responsible for supporting Optum Payment Integrity market structure. The position will work with key leaders to ensure sound financial analysis, decision making, and support interactions with senior leaders and clients.

If you are located near Eden Prairie, MN, you will have the flexibility to Work from home and the office in this hybrid role* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Act as subject matter expert on Optum Payment Integrity applying in-depth knowledge of the business for recommendations to management

  • Structuring, negotiating, and drafting annual intersegment agreements

  • Identify opportunities and prepare business cases for existing client scope expansion

  • Accountability to achieve revenue and profit budgets

  • Identify opportunities and drive financial decisions in partnership with business leadership with focus on priority strategic initiatives

  • Understand and explain monthly, quarterly, and annual variances and key action items

  • Maintain real-time forecast as new information becomes available from the business

  • Lead ad hoc projects that drive cost efficiencies and increase profitability

  • Support product investment decisions to maximize returns

  • Ownership of pricing and profitability on amendments, renewals, and new deals, supported by pricing and analytics teams

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

  • 7+ years of progressive finance experience

  • Experience in financial planning and analysis supporting business partners in P&L management

  • Preparing and presenting materials to senior leaders and clients

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the Healthcare Industry

  • Experience prioritizing & managing demanding workloads with concurrent deadlines

  • Knowledge of payment integrity and healthcare payers

  • History of supporting product capital and operating budgets

  • Excellent interpersonal relationship building and communication (written and verbal)

  • Assertive, self-starting personality with a customer service attitude

  • Trusted advisor and partner to those we serve in the business

  • Structuring, negotiating, and drafting intersegment agreements

  • Ability to achieve success in a matrix business partner structure

  • Solid analytical skills and business acumen

  • Proven ability to deal with ambiguity and change
