Optum Health specifically is at the center of all care provided within Optum. Spanning across in-person medical clinics, at-home care, telehealth, urgent care, surgery centers, and digital patient monitoring, Optum Health manages capabilities across the entire care continuum, helping to manage patients across any health care needs. This role within Optum Health helps manage and facilitate the interaction of all these different care areas, as well as partnership/alignment with the remaining UHG segments and external parties.

Positions in this function will facilitate internal and External projects and partnerships, as well as execute messages and communication on key priorities and initiatives. Research economic progressions to assist with the organization's financial planning. Presents findings and recommendations to management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interface with business leaders and build relationships in support of financial planning and performance measurement including reporting and analysis

  • Partner with business leaders to evaluate investment opportunities and cost savings initiatives to maximize resources and create efficiencies

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in conjunction with forecasting process and key business strategies

  • Manage business relationship on behalf of the broader Finance organization and Leadership-Leverage technology and carry out process improvement activities

  • Coordinate with Optum Health leadership, as well as broader UHG mergers & acquisition team, on opportunity review and assessment for potential acquisitions, partnerships, or other strategic alternatives within the business.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant major

  • 4+ years of relevant financial analysis, mergers & Acquisitions, consulting or accounting experience

  • Progressive financial work experience

  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, MS Office product suite, and other technology tools

  • Proven ability to work in a matrix environment while positively influencing other functional areas

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA

  • 6+ years of relevant Mergers & Acquisitions or financial consulting experience

  • 3+ years of supervisory experience

  • Project management or process improvement experience

  • Health care experience

  • Complex understanding of US health care industry, including value-based care mechanics and where UHG operates within the industry
