The Advisory Svcs Sr Consultant is responsible for creating solutions based on SQL requirements, writing business and/or technical requirements, and validating that developed solutions meet these needs. Initially working with guidance on routine activities, they eventually become independent, actively participating in ensuring high-quality solutions and applying an understanding of testing methodologies. The Development Analyst should possess strong knowledge of performance tuning, query plans, indexing, and table partitioning.
Effective communication with business stakeholders and the QA/UAT team is crucial, as the Development Analyst contributes to solution design through analysis and discussion. They are responsible for documenting processes, adhering to agreed-upon timeframes and protocols, and maintaining high standards. The role also supports numerous production operations, including running and maintaining SQL agent jobs, and coordinating with Quality Assurance and Development teams, Business Analysts, and Project Managers. This position supports several programs that deliver content to various stakeholders on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly schedule, with responsibilities divided into running SQL jobs, problem-solving and performance tuning, and SQL development work for new client requests.
The above will be achieved through demonstrated integrity, improving the client experience by delivery accurate reports, clearly collaborating with others, contributing innovative ideas in a changing environment and driving for results.

Primary Responsibilities:
Write and optimize SQL statements for data storage, sorting, and retrieval.
Develop solutions that meet business requirements within time and cost constraints.
Develop and execute database queries and perform data analysis.
Manage and develop ETL processes.
Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting.
Manage common database procedures, including backups and restores.
Prepare detailed documentation and specifications.
Follow Change Management protocols and best practices.
Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Actively participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and educational activities; assist in training other employees and providing backup support.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:
5+ years of SQL experience, preferably in SQL Server
5+ years of experience with SSIS
4+ years of experience scoping, deriving and building case-based testing from business requirements
3+ years of experience with solving advanced analytical problems
Solid organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of highly functioning team of experts
Preferred Qualifications:
Healthcare claims experience
SSRS, Power BI, or Tableau experience
SVN or Git experience
Advanced technical aptitude (can learn new tech quickly)
Experience deriving and building case-based testing from business requirements
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative
Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills
Excellent time and resource management skills

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
