As a Data Engineering Manager you will help grow our Data Engineering teams and our data pipelines in both the Amazon and Google clouds. Our internal business partners include product, engineering (software and quality), architecture, project management, data science and machine learning.
The responsibilities of the Data Engineering Manager role include the following:
Managing teams of Data Engineers that can be geographically separated
Manage data pipelines and their orchestration
Enforce engineering best practices
Enforce our software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Provide architectural input
Enforce ways of working to make the teams successful
Determine and implement efficiencies in our SDLC
Collaborate with other management
Partner with multiple business areas
Supporting what we develop
Working with business partners to prioritize workload
Delivering on our commitments
The desired skill set includes the following:
Data pipeline development in both Amazon and Google cloud environments.
Data warehouse and data lake development: Google Big Query and Snowflake
Orchestration tool usage
Data replication experience
Agile software development experience
