Data Engineering Manager is part of a team responsible for building data pipelines, consumer insights and the organization's on-demand data needs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and enhancing our existing data and analytics platform.

  • Collaborate with business, analytics teams, and architecture teams to determine the optimal business and technical solutions for go-to-market strategy.

  • Responsible for mentoring team of Data engineers globally.

  • Building required data pipelines for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various data sources using Cloud and SQL technologies and supporting them.

  • Working with stakeholders, including cross-teams and business users, and assisting them with data-related technical issues.

  • Identifying, and implementing internal process improvements, including re-designing the applications for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes.

  • Global stakeholder management and architectural data governance.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of management in the BI/DW/Big Data technology or related field.

  • Experience in Product/Solutions Management in Data and Analytics area, exhibiting full ownership of the product and solution lifecycle from idea to execution.

  • Demonstrated track record in rolling out big data solutions in an enterprise.

  • 10 years of experience working enterprise BI/DW, ETL tools and able to learn new technologies as required

  • 5 Years of Data Warehouse Experience with databases like Oracle, SQLServer, BigQuery, MySQL.

  • Demonstrated strength in SQL, data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing

  • Coding proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Java, etc.)

  • Be able to work with senior leaders to elicit requirements and lead design and technical implementation decisions

  • 4 Experience in anyone of the cloud platforms. (GCP, AWS)

  • Experience mentoring and managing other Data Engineers, ensuring data engineering best practices are being followed

  • Experience with hardware provisioning, forecasting hardware usage, and managing to a budget

  • Demonstrated client relationship and interpersonal skills

  • Self-starter with an ability to identify areas for improvement

  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and written are a must

  • Must possess an enthusiastic personality and foster a positive work environment

  • Consumer-focused and data analytics attitude — an advocate to be data driven

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, especially AI / ML use cases.
