The Good Eating Company is seeking a creative open-minded Executive Chef 1/Sous Chef to work under the direction of our

Senior Executive Chef for our business dining client in Durham NC. The Executive Chef 1/Sous Chef will assist the Sr. Executive Chef across the food service operations. We are hiring for a Chef that can provide an exceptional experience and lead our team with kindness and culinary drive. Other duties will include:

  • assist with menu planning

  • assist with ordering and inventory

  • cateirng production

  • safety and sanitation

  • Ensure all food always looks and tastes great and is visually appetizing when served

  • Are strong hands on with all-round culinary ability and strong craft skills in all areas of professional cookery, including main courses, salads, and sauce work

  • Have a strong knowledge of food and able to cook using multiple styles of cuisine

  • Recognizing and reacting to contemporary trends

  • Use of correct food terminology and cooking methods

  • Constantly looking for new recipes and new ideas and initiatives that will improve both the quality of food and service as a whole

  • Play a key role and enthusiastically mentor’s culinary personnel

What We Offer

Sodexo offers fair and equitable compensation, partially determined by a candidate's education level or years of relevant experience. While the budgeted range for the position is posted, Sodexo salary offers are based on a candidate's specific criteria, like experience, skills, education and training.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
